In another thread, a poster mentioned the reason for God creating man in the first place was because of the "Angelic Conflict of eternity past".

I have never heard of this so I did a search and found this:

    More info here: http://www.mindreality.com/angelic-conflict-reason-why-mankind-exist

    What do you think?
    I think this is nuts.

I've heard this, and similar stories before. It's extra-biblical, pure speculation, and the way that particular version is written is (as you say) nuts, IMO.

    Fallen

    I heard a different story.

Lucifer and many angels started worshiping what God made and lucifer was the worste.

God seeing these made a plan to make mankind to humble the angel's. While God was preparing there dwelling. Lucifer was like why create man-kind we are the perfect creation why create man-kind God doesn't need more than us.

So he got a third of the angel's on his and God seeing this came before them and said that those who would stand with God should stand with God and those who rebell against Him stand with lucifer. A third of the angels stayed with lucifer and God cast them down. Then God continued to do His will and create man-kind.

To this day lucifer blames us for being cast down and hates us with a burning rage. He is out to prove to God that creating man was a bad idea.

Lucifer wouldn't want you to know your hope through Jesus Christ.

Lucifer has no kingdom, and doesn't want more than to see the destruction of man-kind.

Satan has lost. The world does have a hope and His name is Jesus Christ Stand with Jesus the winning side no matter what men will say to you.

Not only is it, as you say, extra-biblical but it is also anti-biblical.

We know exactly why humanity was created. It says so Revelation 4:11 - ".....for Thou hast created all things, and for Thy pleasure they are and were created."

We also know that the creation of mankind and the need to save them was NOT to impress any demonic beings. In fact, the plan to create mankind and to save mankind through the blood of Jesus Christ was set in place before the first angel was created.

Revelation 13:8 - "......the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world."

    A Story

It is just a story not found in the bible and never meant to be thought of biblically, but we are to know that satan does hate us with a burning rage a deceiver, a liar a muderer from the beginning.

It was at his suggestion that another thread be started to discuss this.

I can see how some free-willers might buy into a bogus story like this, because they're used to thinking of God reacting to things - like reacting to our faith and saving us because of it. God is in reactive mode during the whole angelic conflict story. In response to satan's accusations, God has to "prove" His love by creating man and becoming the redeemer. I guess that means we should all show our gratitude to satan, since he's the reason we exist. Yeah, right.

Are you sure we can't trace this back to Benny Hinn?

I think this (OP story) helps me understand the utter disdain that I find in the posts by "calvinistic" folks in opposition to the "free-willers". Because that angel story just sounds like a "Christianized version" of a Greek or Roman myth....a story started/passed down to explain the origin of man that REVOLVES AROUND MAN. Which is--of course-- completely wrong. Anything that puts MAN at the center of the universe or creation is contrary to the truth of a sovereign God complete and perfect in and of Himself.
