'08 Fantasy Football Draft Lottery

    Here we go. The teams are set. I have randomized an order of who gets to pick their draft spot using an Excel spreadsheet. Remember that this is a serpentine draft. IOW, the person who picks first overall will pick last in round 2 (but will pick first in round 3). The person who picks last in round 1 will pick first in round 2. So keep this in mind as you select your position.

    Please disclose your order promptly. We have 12 teams and 8 days to get our order set.

    Here we go....

    The lottery order is:
    1. Giants
    2. Speedsters
    3. Tomsters
    4. Schooners
    5. Azul Y Oro
    6. Mountain Dew Kid
    7. Cellar Dwellar
    8. Vast Right Wingers
    9. SA Air Attack
    10. P-38 Lightnings

    All I did was test a custom order selection to make sure we could do it without doing "keepers". I changed it back. Don't know what the "error" could possibly be.

    Where did you see this message?

    GIANTS...where are you? Don't make us have to pick for you :)

    That message is now gone at the top of the page under "League Notes". But now this one is there:

    "The draft order will be randomly determined approximately 30 minutes before the draft begins."

    I suspect Tom is waiting for everyone to pick their slot before he changes it back from random to custom.

    Is there twelve teams or ten? Not that it really matters but it might change someone's strategy in picking their draft order.

    :confused: I am confused. What is going on? Are you saying that we are supposed to pick where we want to draft in the first round?

    If so, it's pretty easy for me. I take whatever is left. :)

    Yes. That's how we did it for the baseball league and it seemed to go over well. Gives us an extra way to "play" if you will and keeps us from being at the mercy of Yahoo's random choice 30 minutes before hand. Remember that this is a serpentine draft. So if you choose the 1st spot in round one, you're picking last in round 2. The order is inverted for each round. The last selection of the first round picks first in the second round and so on.

    Giants..it's been 48 hours or so. If by tomorrow we don't have a selection, it's to the back of the line. Sorry, but we have to get everyone's picks in before Sat.

    BTW, you dont have to wait til I acknowledge your pick. Just make sure you haven't picked a slot already taken. The 3rd, 5th, and 7th slots are off the board.
