Here is something while you wait [IMG]

    Here is a "difference"

    Ifaiah XIIII:12 (KJV1611):

How art thou fallen from heauen,
    ||O Lucifer, sonne of the morning? how
art thou cut downe to the ground,
    which didst weaken the nations?

    Sidenote: ||Or, O daystarre

Ifaiah XIIII:12 (KJV1611, second best reading):

How art thou fallen from heauen,
    ||O daystarre, sonne of the morning? how
art thou cut downe to the ground,
    which didst weaken the nations?

    Isaiah 14:12 (KV21):
How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer,
    son of the morning!
How art thou cut down to the ground,
    who didst weaken the nations!

    Isaiah 14:12 (KJV1769):
How art thou fallen from heaven, O Lucifer,
    son of the morning!
how art thou cut down to the ground,
    which didst weaken the nations!

Note the punctuation change from KJV1611 to KJV1769
(and that the KV21 follows the KJV1769).
Why is the KJV1769 an AUTHORIZED translation
while the KV21 is not? One of the mysteries of KJVO-ism

Fascimiles abound. I had no trouble finding one, and you should not either. One usually shows up on ebay, but I have watched people get into a bidding war, and they end up paying more for a used fascimile than I paid for a new one.

A point to make: make sure that it is a reproduction, not a reprint in modern typeset.

Not sure, Hank. It is under glass (for the obvious reasons) and I was being rushed out of the sanctuary (it is still a functioning church and they had a wedding). It appears to be a "He" Bible and is opened to the "presented to Bruton Parish by His Majesty" page. I had to wipe off my own drool from the glass casing!!

I am going up there this weekend. I will try to take a picture of it and upload it. Does anyone know if I can upload a jpeg image to the thread??

Hey Ed, do you have these copies? If not where did you get these verses?

I have the Nelson reprint (in a font
i can read) of the 1611 Edition
    of the King James Bible.

BTW, i'm looking for that reference that
shows the 1611 edition is of the Devil
via the damned RCCs :( (the KJV1769
    is alright, evidently)

    Why?

</font>[/QUOTE]IMHO, a reprint in modern typeset really defeats the whole purpose of obtaining a copy of the 1611 Authorised Version.

BTW, it is supposed to snow here. If it does not snow, I will go up to Williamsburg and see if I can get a picture of the "He" Bible in Bruton Parish Church.

    Dear Baptist in Richmond.

    I still don't understand.

    Here is why I got a Nelson's:

It has the full content of the 1611 First Edition including all the introductory material to the King of England, to the reader, a section about Earlier English translations, History of the 1611 First Edition, names of the translators, their positions, schools, etc..., Church liturgy Calendar, Saint's Days, Holy Days, etc.

It has all the Marginal notes, Chapter headings, etc.

Plus, I can read it. The original Gothic type (which you would get in a photographic reproduction) is nearly impossible to read (at least for me).
The Roman type is readable even though the Olde Englysh spelling is retained and that on occassion can cause a problem.

Great maybe you can put it in the Baptist Board Album!

I really love your enthusiasm for this topic that is near and dear to my heart.

This is a good one. I have seen some Bibles say "1611 King James Bible" and in reality they are not. That is what I meant.

The 1611 Authorised Version is in Early Modern English.

I am going to try; however, the Bible is in a glass case, and I wonder if I can get the picture without a reflection. Undoubtedly, there will be drool on the case as well, as I really would like to have a "He" Bible, especially this one!!

    I.Corinthians XI:5 (KJV1611):

    But euery woman that prayeth
or prophesieth with her head vncouevred,
dishonoureth her head : for that is
euen all one as if she were shauen.

    Compare with:

    1 Corinthians 11:5 (KJV1769):

    But every woman that prayeth
or prophesieth with her head uncovered
dishonoureth her head: for that is
even all one as if she were shaven.

Only difference is that the colon ( [IMG] follows the
preceeding word instead of being centered.

Actually i find that the big doctrinal differences
come from people who use the King James Version 1769.

I like to study last things. Here are the big
    differences between Pretribulation Dispensationalists
    and Postribulation Dispensationalists:

    1. the meaning of "Day" in 2 Peter 3:10
(and other "Day of the Lord" passages)

    2. The meaning of "and" in 2 Thessalonians 2:1

    3. The meaning of the first "and" in Matthew 24:31

    4. The meaing of "first" in Revelation 20:5

There are probably a couple more differences, but
they are just different understandings of the same
word in the KJV1769. Don't need no Modern Versions
to change doctrine, the doctrine varies on the
    understanding of words.

Here is a website where the Gothic font of a "real" photographic facsimile KJB is illustrated.

    http://www.capstonebooks.com/kjv2.htm

It's a Gene Scott site and he's a little coarse for some people although I didn't see anything offensive at this site, except the price of this photographic reproduction of the 1611 KJB $3000.00!

He does have a smaller version of the same Gothic facsimile for $250.00.

    Here is a full page:

    http://www.capstonebooks.com/kjvsmheb.htm

BTW the Roman type edition began in 1612.

Hank, I am a big shortwave radio enthusiast, and Dr. Scott does extensive broadcasting on shortwave radio. You could describe his preaching in one word: BIZARRE!!

He used to be on TV but I think even those of this world found him hard to take.

There is one statement he used to make that I used to appreciate.

"You shouldn't have to park your brains at the door of the Church before you go in".
