Ah, Shia worshippers chillin' with Freddy Mercury! Maybe we can get "O Brother Where Art Thou" in. I'd think they would love the Klan meetin' scene.

You'd be amused, perhaps, by the reactions I get from younger kids when I explain what "We Are the Champions" is talking about (and it ain't football). One 8th grade cheerleader (perky blonde girl) said, "Oh, no, Mr. B, that's wrong, that's soooo gay." (interestingly enough, "gay" has morphed into a new connotation--"gay" means "dumb, weak, stupid, nerdy.").

    I replied,

    "Well Yeah, that's the point!"

Skynard, Daniels, Marshall Tucker, et. al. is more to my taste (when I'm in a rock mood).

And I can relate to the understanding of the connotation of the denotation of the implication, of the peroration, of the celebration, of the commutation, of the association, of the distribution, of the oration, of the indication, of the holy nation, on short rations, looking for a better occupation.

And you can quote me on that.

    Would that I could.

But surely Freddie's demonstration of abomination must foster consternation within the administration, which could lead to recrimination, lamentation and discombobulation on a scale left only to the imagination. Surely to be shunned.

As a fellow redneck southerner, I must disagree, ELVIS is a false king and dead! And so is the Queen of England, Freddy Mercury. The true king is Richard Petty #43, he is still alive and will return to race agian. If you add the 4 and 3 together you get 7 which is the perfect Living Bible number of a king.

BTW what is "We Are the Champions" talking about?

It is talking about homosexuals being picked on and coming out as the champions.

In the days before I was Saved I must have been to drunk or stoned to get that. Now that the Lord has got a hold of me, and I don't listen to that junk any more I'm constantly finding out how bad the lyrics to that poison was, that I used to listen too. I will always thank God I'm saved.

Well, in my wild days (which were a LONG time ago, when we called it "hard rock," not heavy metal, and before Queen or AC/DC came on the scene), God must have had His hand on me, because I was on a "natural" high--that is, I was usually just a happy-go-lucky dude, and never got into weed, chemicals, etc. I played in some pretty good local bands (keyboard), and was usually the "designated driver" for the other knuckleheads. When God saved me, he took me out of the rock scene totally. Now the stuff I played is on the "NASCAR/Oldies" stations. Makes me feel older than dirt. [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

As in when John Sebastian (Lovin' Spoonful) asked Country Joe McDonald, "Wow, man, Woodstock, wasn't that a great time!?"

Joe said, "I really don't remember man..."

    Better oblivion through chemistry?

Wow! I only remembered the high points. Good research.
I remember that we student types ate it up. It was sort of at the beginning of the MV movement. Which was a good thing back then, but has gotten a little out of hand these days.
