I will be comparing some snips from the 1996 edition of the NLT with those of the 2007 edition.
The 96 version will be above in each pairing and the 2007 will be underneath.

    Isaiah is the book.

    53:3
    bitterest grief
    deepest grief

    53:5
he was wounded and crushed for our sins
he was pierced for our rebellion, crushed in our sins

    53:5
He was beaten so that we might have peace
He was beaten so that we could be whole

    53:8
From prison and trial they led him away to his death. but who among the people realized that he was dying for their sins --that he was suffering their punishment?

Unjustly condemned, he was led away. No one cared that he died without descendants, that his life was cut short in midstream. But he was struck down for the rebellion of my people.

    53:10
he will have a multitude of children, many heirs

    he will have many descendants

    53:12
I will give him the honors of one who is mighty and great

I will give him the honors of a victorious soldier

96 : They spend their time plotting evil deeds and then doing them
07 : They conceive evil deeds and then give birth to sin

    59:5
96 : They spend their time and energy spinning evil plans that end up in deadly actions.
07 : They hatch deadly snakes and weave spiders' webs. Whoever falls into their webs will die,
and there's danger even in getting near them.

    59:6
96 : They cheat and shortchange everyone. Nothing they do is productive.
07 : They have mapped out crooked roads.

    59:
96 : It is because of all this evil that deliverance is far from us. That is why God doesn't
    punish those who injure us.
07 : So there is no justice among us, and we know nothing about right living.

So which one is more dynamic overall? Cite the passages you like from the two and those ones you think didn't cut the mustard.

The Nlt would be more dynamic of the two, correct?

Your reading comprehension skills are severely lacking. Pay attention.

I was posting snips from the 1996 NLT and the 2007 version. How can you miss the obvious much of the time?

Sorry, and the 2007 was not as free/dynamic then, correct?

You decide. I gave a bunch of examples. You compare them. It's not an either/or proposition. It's on a case-by-case basis.

Would say that the new edition is less dynamic!

The 2007 version seems to be less dynamic. The NET note has "A warrior who will be richly rewarded."

The NET has "You will refute everyone who tries to accuse you."
So the 2007 edition seems to be less dynamic.

The NET renders it as :"...not remember me or think about me." That's
    somewhat like the 1996 version.

The NET reads :"gaining for himself a lasting reputation."
That's closer to the 1996 version.

In the NET note it says the Hebrew renders it like "Your bones like grass will sprout."
Therefore the 2007 is less dynamic.

The NET reads:"You must remove the burdomsome yoke from among you and stop pointing fingers..."
So the 2007 edition is less dynamic of the two.
