If you like contemporary - these are 2 new songs DH introduced into church today. I am really liking them!

"You are the One" by Paul Baloche and Lincoln Brewster

    VERSE:
You're the one who made the heavens
You're the one who shaped the earth
You're the one who formed my heart
    Long before my birth
I believe you'll always lead me
All my days have been ordained
All your thoughts t'ward me are holy
    Full of love and grace

    CHORUS:
You are the one, you are holy
You are the one, you are worthy
You are the one, you are the one everlasting
You are the one, I will worship
You are the one I will serve all my days
You are the one, You are the one everlasting
    You are the one

"Great is the Lord" by Starfield

    If all I've done
At last should come to nothing
And all I love, like sand be washed away

    Still I will sing
    Of Your unfailing glory
    On bended knee
I'll lift my voice and say

    Great is the Lord
    Great is Your name
    Till my last breath
    I will proclaim

    Great is the Lord
    Great is Your name
    I give my life
    To sing Your praise

    If You should speak
    Or should remain in silence
Should give me light, or lead me through the dark

    Whatever the cost
    Whatever joy or sorrow
    I'll worship still
    Because of who You are

    When death becomes
The end of all my labors
And Christ alone my rest and reward

    May all I've done
    Be one enduring echo
    Resounding on to shout
    Great is the Lord

Be careful posting lyrics, the mods will get you for copyright infraction. I don't knwo the second song, but the first is a good one! I'll be checking out the second soon, as Starfield will be here with Shane and Shane in a month!

We did some new ones yesterday, as the youth were leading the service. They were "Majestic" (Brewster), "Praise Adonai" (Baloche), "Meet With Me" (King), and "Be Near" Barnard".

We can't post lyrics? Even if I posted the author??

You'll love the second song - it's really good! :) I'll let DH know about the other songs - see if he knows them. I know he's got a big list of songs to introduce this year. There's some really good worship writers around!

You can't post the lyrics, even with author, copyright info, and composer social security number. No amount of information makes it ok, apparantly according to BB rules. Just be careful.

Ahh - Didn't know that! :) How about if I put a CCLI number here? We have the licensing so I know I can project it at church! ;) I'd think it would work here! LOL

Well, I can't edit it so if I get caught, I'm sorry, I didn't know. I plead ignorance (and loving these two songs! LOL)

 I'm not going to report you! BTW, is your husband going to get to wear vests instead of coat and tie?

Well, he tried something new this week to see what would happen. We went to Macy's on Saturday night and shopped for some new pants (he needed them) and some dress shirts that were darker colors. This Sunday, he wore a pair of black pants and a dark burgundy button-down dress shirt with the top button unbuttoned and he looked much nicer dressed to me. It worked out well for worship - really well because he stayed cool and didn't sweat much and he had a lot of mobility. So he'll do it again this week then ask Pastor if that's OK for him instead of a jacket and tie. Oh - and he brought his jacket so he wore that when he was not leading worship so he looked pretty dapper! :) Hopefully this will be a good solution. Otherwise, we WERE looking at vests while we were shopping and we saw some we liked. Thanks for the idea!
