Askjo said "That is very obvious that your quotation shows that you are a rationalist."

Well, most rationalists denied Psalm 12:6-7 refers to the preservation of the Holy Scriptures. Is that what they prove that the Words of God were preserved by God?

Michelle quoted: I hear constant appeals for "prove it" and we have "proved" you wrong. What seems strange to me, is how one is to go about "proving" faith? It all comes down to faith in the promises of God, and this can only be proven within those of the same faith. How can all of you, who hold not to the faith in the preservation of the words of God tell us that you have proven us wrong? And, how can you ask us to prove to you something that requires faith on your part? I also hear constant appeals for "by whose authority?".

I agree with Michelle. Prove it! prove it! Blah! They are rationalists who want defenders of the KJV to prove it.

Pathetic. Seek one SHRED of evidence or proof of the lies of the KJVonly sect and I am a "rationalist"?

This is a new, exciting tack for the only sect - don't give a bit of proof or evidence or logic or even >gasp< a VERSE OF SCRIPTURE - but instead call anyone who demands evidence as "rational".

Well, I'm rational, for sure. And I know who is "irrational", for CERTAIN sure . .

Amen! Every negative presupposes a positive. More wooly thinking from the KJVO crowd. If we MV's are "rationalists" that means they are "irrationalists," and, as I understand my training in systematic theology and philosophy of religion, 'irrationalism' is not only ungodly, but the root of theological liberalism. KJVOists can only arrive at their conclusions via circular arguments and self-defeating affirmations. At the root of EVERY false doctrine is a reliance on just those things. That alone shows KJVonism is a false doctrine.

Well, it really is sort of silly in the first place....it's like saying there was no Bible in the English language until the KJV came along. If that's the case, then I feel sorry for those poor people before 1611 when King James commissioned the work. If they cannot see the falacy of their own stance, I don't know what they will see. There is no shred of evidence in any version, KJV or otherwise that God will preserve his word in one version for any language. It's ludicrous and unscriptural to think otherwise.

    Gene, Tony, Bob,

I was beginning to think that I was just imagining all of this. It just seems almost surreal with all of the circular reasoning going on.

I keep waiting for the day when a KJVOer will actually catch their tail and realize just how hollow their myth really is. Unfortunately, that doesn't happen often...but, when it does, even the angels rejoice!

    In Christ,
    Trotter

The fact that they can not answer my simple questions proves that KJVOism is in trouble. What it is about KJVOist when it comes to scripture? Are they scared that they will meet the KJVO myth face to face and be forced to admit that KJVOism is a liberal man made doctrine that has not one ounce of truth to it let alone scripture to support it?

What is a doctrine without scripture?

A false doctrine does not need scripture but only circular reasoning backed up by emotions and humanistic thinking.

As for Askjo's comments about me, well that is fine. As a KJVO for 7 years I was blinded. The day that I picked up a real AV1611 and read it for myself, thought for myself, and I understood that KJVOism is a myth I was freed from the modernism known as KJVOism. If you want to name call and point your finger at me because I came out of KJVOism then be my quest, but you can not stand upon scripture to do so.

To be blunt, I think it's time for you to just shut up since you will not put up. All your words are nothing but hollow air because you have no scripture to back up your claims that God said this and that.

No matter what any KJVOist may write or say it does not cover the fact that they can not present scripture to prove KJVOism. They can not prove which KJV is God approved by scripture therefore they put words in God's mouth claiming this and that without listing the scripture. They can not prove that the KJV is the only bible by God’s words therefore they use human logic and put words in God’s mouth. They can not prove which KJV is God approved and perfect so they ignore the question or tell the lie that the KJB is perfect while using the term KJB thus ignoring that the KJV has many changes and revisions over the years. They do the same thing that every JW or Mormon missionary that I've debated and witnessed to over the years; they create a doctrine based on human reason vs. the scriptural facts.

Well go ahead KJVOist and list the scriptures. End the Bible version debate right now. You could end the controversy and show us that you are right using the scriptures. Don’t be selfish and not answer. Remember that you made a claim and if you truly believe that MV’s are satanic and/or perverted apostate bibles then I’m sure that you should be concerned enough to lead those of us who use MV’s out of the darkness that KJVOist claims that we are in with the scriptures proving KJVOism, which KJV, and the proof in the KJV that says KJV. Be true to your words and show us the scriptures. I don’t want you putting words into God’s mouth, show me the written word of the Most High that proves your KJVOism and answers my questions.

That is my challenge to all of you.

Here is how the vote is going with 34 total votes:

Poll Results: #2 Which KJV is your authority? (34 votes.)
#2 Which KJV is your authority?
    Choose 4
no KJV is my authority 65% (22)
original KJV 1611 edition (spelled: Iesus) 12% (4)
    KJV 1769 edition (spelled Jesus) 26% (9)
    KJV 1873 edition (spelled Jesus) 9% (3)
How did you deside the KJB would be your authority?
    Choose 1
    the KJV isn't my authority 68% (23)
    TV personality 0% (0)
    denomination leader 3% (1)
    local pastor 3% (1)
    self 0% (0)
Holy Spirit guided scripture study 26% (9)

I place this here for later study and comparision.

I note the KJV1769 is three times the authority
    of the KJV1873.
I note that the KJV1769 is over twice the
authority of the KJV1611. (This may be
because some voters don't really understand
the difference between the KJV1611 and the
    KJV1769)
There are KJVOs who claim that it makes
no difference wheather one uses the
KJV1611 or the KJV1769 or the KJV1783, but
these must be in the minority. Please note
that if you read the question it was quite
possible to vote for all three editions!!! [IMG]

After six weeks and (8) pages, I feel that we have an adequate representation of how the BB feels about the issue. The results posted above say all that needs to be said.
