It is not only ridiculous from that point of view, but also because even now, at 308 lbs, he is very much overweight. Even if he were a massive 7 feet tall (unlikely!) his body mass index would be 30.7. Still obese, but better than the BMI of 41.1 he had when he went to prison. And this, as I say, is assuming he is 7 feet tall! A BMI of 18.5 to 24.9 indicates normal weight, 25 to 29.9 is overweight, and anything above 30 is obese. He should be thanking the prison authorities for making him more healthy.

I'm not overweight; I'm under tall. I was 5"8" at age 13, and I'm still 5"8". Everyone said I would be very tall, but I fooled them--I quit growing. :tonofbricks:

" Ark. - An inmate awaiting trial on a murder charge is suing the county, complaining he has lost more than 100 pounds because of the jailhouse menu. "

Arkansas diet plan. It seems to be working. :D

They better look out. LA Weight Loss will be after them for interferring with private interprise.

According to that site, I was OK when I went into boot camp but I was overweight when I got out of boot camp 8 weeks later. :tonofbricks:

Now, 26 years later, I scored over 30. :BangHead:

The BMI is not accurate to determine obesity. With my build, I can be less than 10% bodyfat and still be considered obese with a 34" waist.

In listening to the news in the car today, they were saying that the diet in the prison is 3000 calories per day - more than the recommendation for an adult. So they've got it good!

Calories do not tell what they're being fed. Mostly it will qualify as slop, nothing more. Would think it was good to be fed soaked bread, or food with grease floating on top, food extremely over cooked to the point of being like cardboard, or the opposite, being nearly raw? There are times when exactly whats being served can't even be identified. Inmates who have no idea how to cook are the cooks, and cleanliness is no ones priority.
Nope, calories do not tell what they are actually eating.

So next there will be an attorney who will get a class-action suit started for all the inmates who have GAINED weight there because they provide too many calories per day.

Well, he can come down to NC. We still have chain gangs here, only they don't actually put them in chains before they start working anymore. But they do have at least two sherrifs with shotguns watching over them. It's not that hot here yet, but around august, that'll work up a sweat for sure.

    love,

    Sopranette

I'd sure love to see him jailed in the Philippines.
I was in jail for a while.
Petty stuff like gang fights, and tattoing gang marks on people I recruited.
Chopped "water-lily" like vegetables, soup that tastes like cups and cups of salt were poured on them, overcooked rice, one piece each of dried fish the size of your pinky.
    Repeat at dinner.
In the morning we had three pieces of buns so hard some inmates actually hide them to make weapons with, three of them tied together and wrapped in a hankie or towel would cut the scalp of anybody. These paired with coffee that smells (and tastes) like canal water, no sugar.

Man, inmates here in the States have it good.

I read about nutraloaf last night, and I can guarantee it is being to the general population in some prisons. It comes to them oval shaped slices , and they drench it in gravy and call it salisbury steak.
