Forty five percent (45%) of U.S. voters say it is likely President-elect Obama or one of his top campaign aides was involved in the unfolding Blagojevich scandal in Illinois, including 23% who say it is Very Likely.

It appears from the report published today that 45% of the public are mistaken.

    I'm surprised it's not higher.

The report confirmed Emmanuel had multiple contacts with Blago and his staff about filling the vacant Senate seat.

==I know you are not going to like this, but I put no trust in these polls. How many of the people polled know enough to make an educated guess on this matter? Few to none. Unless and or until evidence comes out linking an Obama aid to Blagojevich's criminal activity (ie...they were knowingly involved) I will say it is a non-issue. The 24-hour news channels are making it an issue with their endless speculation, rumor, and gossip. However to this point there has been no evidence of wrong doing by Obama or any high level official in his office.

==Of course contacts mean nothing. I would expect there would be contacts between the two sides on the matter of filling the seat. The issue is not contacts, the issue is the substance of those contacts. To this point, no evidence exists linking a high level Obama official to Blagojevich's criminal activity. This story is nothing more than rumor and gossip on the part of the 24-hour news channels.

    It means involvement.

The poll did not say criminally involved, just involved.

    The nunber should be 100%.

It appears Obama has done nothing wrong, in spite of
What many in the right-wing would like.

I think the Gov is being set up by taking statements out of context by people who do the same thing with the Bible.

Yes, the senate seat is valuable and it would be foolish to give it away to someone who can't fight for his state.

The poll shows that this is a strongly politicized question much like the witch hunt about Obama's citizenship.

Thirty-eight percent (38%) of Republicans and 23% of unaffiliated voters also rate such involvement as Very Likely, compared to 10% of Democrats. Twenty percent (20%) of Democrats say it is not at all likely, but just eight percent (8%) of unaffiliateds and four percent (4%) of Republicans agree.

We know at least one of his people spoke with blagojevich about the vacant senate seat, and that obama lied about no one on his staff doing that.
Sounds like 55% are the mistaken ones.

45% of Americans believe that a senate seat is NOT valuable? You gots to be kidding! 45% of Americans think that the senate appointee should NOT be loyal to the party that appointed him?
