5 day work week too much for our representatives.

    "Rank-and-file members of Congress are grumbling about the five-day workweek instituted this year by House Democratic leaders, complaining that it leaves little time for campaigning and allows few weekdays to deal with business back home."

    Maybe thats the problem with politics today. Too much time campaigning to stay in power and not and not doing what they were elected to do.

    The less time they are up there the les time they have to mess things up.

    OK, let's see...we work 5 days a week and pay taxes on that income so that these bunch of yo-yo's can live off of us.
    I'm almost agree that if they didn't work 5 days a week they would have less time to screw things up; but at the same time i'm not convinced they are working anyway.
    I'm torn on this one...

    The more time they spend in their districts/states the better. They need to spend more time around their constituents.

    I say put them on commission. Either that or put them on minimum wage for the first 40 hours a week.

    If there is not enough for them to do in 40 hours a week, I am sure there are plenty of bathrooms in the Capitol that need cleaning.
