This is a blatantly dishonest line of thought, and you know it.

It wasn't "conservative vs. liberal" in 2000, and 2004. It was moderate vs. moonbat in 2000, and moderate vs. statist in 2004. Millions of people chose "the lesser of two evils." People were just enthusiastic in opposing two of the worst candidates in recent history.

Come, now. Do you really think there are just two types of people here...conservative, and liberal...and two types of candidates?

    Give me a break.

As I stated in the other thread, our soldiers will be slaughtered - those who are training and working alongside muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan---those muslim soldiers we have trained will turn against our troops and kill them in a muslim rage. :tear:

Bush was voted in on the conservative ticket. He was the conservative candidate. To disown him now is to say you let a liberal run on the conservative ticket and the conservatives voted him in.

Again I say, good luck selling that story...

It is not a dishonest thought, LB, but being as you are a liberal and liberal thought patterns and beliefs, you have no idea how a true conservative thinks. As was stated before, Bush was never embraced as a true conservative by true conservatives, but was selected and voted in as the lesser of two evils--a reach out to so-called moderates. The base, the hard right, was left out in the cold and because of going away from their base, the Republicans have lost ground and elections. It was a mistake to embrace even some socialistic ideas (such as NAFTA, CAFTA, free world trade, embracing illegal immigration, etc.)

I only voted for McCain, not because he was Republican or because I perceived him to be a conservative (which he is not), but voted for the lesser of two evils. If Republicans ever want people to vote from their genuine support and not for the lesser of two evils, and if Republicans ever hope to win an election again, they will have to shift back to the right and to traditional values of the middle class.

Now last election, the greater of two evils won--the baby killers and socialists. :tear:

At least Bush kept us safe after 09/11. Will your guy do the same for the next 3 years and 9 months? Time will tell, won't it? I say not, Obama is destroying part of our safety net, willfully, wrongfully, and will incite islamic rage with release of those pictures. If he was truly interested in the safety of Americans, our citizens and our troops, he would never consider what he is about to do. If he was truly interested in safety of Americans, citizens and troops, he would have never released bits and pieces of the memos. His motive is political and self-serving, pure and simple.

I would rather have a perceived strong leader in the WH (even if I disagree with many of his policies), than a terrorist enabler any day (whom I disagree with ALL of his policies so far). Many conservatives on this board have been outspoken about some of the Bush wrong-headed policies throughout the Bush administration. That is more "honest" and thoughtful and principled than blindly following into lock step with your guy, just because he is your guy in the WH, even though he is morally bankrupt (abortion supporter/funder).

This thread is not about Bush, anyway, so unless you have something to contribute along the lines of the OP, please bow out of this discussion.

    MODERATOR NOTE:
This thread will NOT be closed just because Obama supporters don't like the subject. Instead, off topic posts will be deleted from here on out. And so will personal attacks and innuendoes, like "dishonest line of thought" comments, LB and rbell. Thanks for your cooperation. LE

Nice pigeonholing of all 300 million Americans into one of two camps.

Isn't that what you would accuse "the right" of doing?
