65% of white democrats don't believe in all knowing all powerful all loving God

I actually was writing and researching a political science statistical research report that covered this issue once while in undergrad.

Black Dems tend to be religious
Black Reps tend to be irreligious

Hispanic Dems tend to be religious
Hispanic Reps tend to be very religious and traditional

White Reps tend to be religious
White Dems tend to be irreligious

Blacks are a small piece of Rep voters, thus the secularism of the average black Rep is not an issue that rises to the national level.

Hispanic and Black Dems have much more in common on values with White Reps than White Dems. Karl Rove saw this in 2000 and 2004 and used it as once piece of the puzzle to putting George W. Bush in the White House by making our vote a values vote.

The real divide in America is that Dems are led by wealthy white people who are secular and have the support of secular whites. Reps are led by wealthy white people who are religious and have the support of religious whites. Faith really is at the core of the Dem and Rep divide as that.

I will also add that race relations is another issue that seems as polarizing as faith. Why aren't religious Blacks voting Rep or moderately religious Hispanics voting Rep? It seems to be the issues related to race relations.

 

Well, all them boys went ahead and chose to boo the Lord at their convention, so i'm bout as surprised as sticking my hand up a black bear's rear end and getting bit.

 

Try painting them black and see if that makes a difference.

 

Several of my better neighbors are African American and Mexican American, and they do not fit this stereotype.

I'm sure we all know people of all races who fit their stereotypes and who don't, since we're all adults with some age and experience of the world.

What is your opinion about why Christian black and Hispanic Americans may prefer the Democratic party?

 

I think it comes back to politics. When we preach or align with political parties, we end up preaching to the choir while emptying the pews. Some churches are all choir and zero ticket sales.

 

You answered as if I had asked why fewer white Democrats attend church or believe in an orthodox God.

But I asked if you have an opinion about why more black and Hispanic Christians are in the Democratic rather than Republican party.

 

As I see it, people go where they are most loved. And politicised churches shoot their own feet out from under themselves if they align with political parties that some deem to be less loving.

I think love speaks louder than words. Words often contradict. You cannot preach love and the level of hatred in politics from the same pulpit.

 

“They will hate you, as they hated me”.

 

Hate is a cheapened word in politics. Hate is as cheapened a word in politics as love is cheapened in rock n roll music lyrics.

 

That covers quite a few white Democrats. But what about the Christian blacks and Hispanics? They don't hate Jesus.

 

Most of them have turned Jesus into a socialist wimp. Not the valiant savior I personally know.

 

Maybe Jesus includes and transcends both what they see Him as and what you see Him as.
