    I have a person with this disorder in my life, and want to know if anyone else has any personal experience with anyone who's had it, or even anyone who considers themselves informed on the matter.

    I would say this person is a textbook case, and on the extreme. Saying they're prone to temper tantrums is like saying Michelangelo was a house painter. Right now I have to spend 25-30 hours a week, one on one with them. Another aspect of this particular case is absolutely fearless self-injurious behavior.
