“One Trump loyalist — noting that Corker has many more friends in the Senate than Trump does — said the rift could dash chances for a tax law overhaul or other meaningful legislation. “His presidency could be doomed,” said this person, who spoke on the condition of anonymity so as not to alienate the president or his staff.

“We have been watching the slow-motion breakup of the Republican Party, and Trump is doing what he can to speed it up,” said Patrick Caddell, a veteran pollster who has worked with Stephen K. Bannon, Trump’s former chief strategist, who now runs Breitbart News, a conservative website.

“Trump is firmly placing himself on the outside, trying to become an almost independent president,” Caddell said. “He knows that many people will be with him, that he helps himself when he’s not seen as the Republican president. But what about his program? That’s the question — and possibly the cost of what he’s doing.” “

Trump is right about Corker. McCain should be remembered as a petty person.

Here is what Corker did in 2015:

TN Sen. Corker made a deal with Obama, who could not get the Iran deal through the US Senate as a treaty that required two-thirds approval.

So Sen. Corker allowed Obama to submit the deal as an executive agreement that need a simple majority to pass or fail. Then Obama could veto the result and Congress would need a two-thirds majority to override Obama's veto. In other words, Obama would only need one third of the Congress to get the Iran deal approved.

And then it turns out that the Democrats have enough votes in the Senate to prevent the deal from even being debated and voted upon in the Senate so that the deal will take effect without Congress doing anything because of a built-in timeline, or deadline (no pun intended).

Corker is an establishment Republican and he made a deal with Obama so that Obama did not have to pass the Iran deal through Congress as a treaty. I posted on this two years ago. Corker is a fool who was easily used by the Democrats. Trump correctly identified Corker as responsible for the Iran Deal. Corker should resign.

If it does, the blame will belong to a president who has not hesitated to use inflammatory rhetoric and heavy-handed tactics to stop Congress from interfering with a policy of appeasement of Iran. But Obama didn’t do it alone. He could never have succeeded had he not had the unwitting help of Senator Bob Corker, the Republican chair of the Foreign Relations Committee. Without Corker’s foolish belief in working with the White House and pusillanimous unwillingness to push for an approval process in line with the Constitution’s provisions about foreign treaties, the administration might never have been able to get away with sneaking through the most important foreign policy decision in a generation.

Blame an Inept Corker For an Iran Deal Filibuster

It’s nice to see Ken worried about Trump not getting his agenda through. Afterall, he won the election.

The Iran Nuclear Deal Has Been a Blessing for Israel
The Iran Nuclear Deal Has Been a Blessing for Israel

"Two years on from the signing of the agreement to curtail Tehran’s nuclear program, Israel and the region are safer than ever from the threat of mullahs with a bomb.

During my time as director of Israel’s General Security Service, the Shin Bet, I was among those responsible for maintaining my country’s security in a tumultuous and dangerous region. It was my job to consider every threat and every challenge. Among the most serious threats that I worried faced Israel was the possibility of Iran developing a nuclear weapon. That was one danger I knew we could never accept.

Now, as the world marks the two-year anniversary of the adoption of the nuclear agreement with Iran, known as the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA), the threat of an Iranian nuclear weapon is more remote than it has been in decades. Thanks to the agreement, Iran’s nuclear program has been defanged and all its pathways to a bomb blocked.

While no agreement is perfect, this achievement must not be underestimated. For decades, leaders and experts in Israel and among our allies contemplated the drastic steps we might have to take to restrain or destroy Iran’s nuclear program. That included potential military operations that might have triggered a major escalation and cost many lives — with no guarantee of achieving their goal.

Through the JCPOA, the major world powers came together to ensure — without a single shot being fired — that Iran dismantled key nuclear infrastructure and submitted itself to thorough monitoring and inspection."

The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has confirmed that Iran has complied with the terms of the agreement. It has dismantled and removed two-thirds of its centrifuges. It has reduced its stockpile of enriched uranium by 98 percent, shipping over 25,000 pounds out of the country. The core of its Arak reactor, which could have allowed Iran to produce weapons-grade plutonium, has been removed and its shell filled with concrete. Perhaps most importantly, Tehran has provided inspectors with unprecedented access to its nuclear facilities and supply chain.

FTW, I don't know why you are trying to justify the Obama action and Corker to me. I think that Corker is what is called an undocumented Democrat and a natural liar.

As for your contention that Israel is safer, I don't think that that is a majority opinion in Israel. If Obama had not threatened to take military action against Israel if they tried to stop Iran militarily, Israel would have done what both Obama and Trump should do--take away any possibility that Iran could threaten anyone. I am sure that Saudi Arabia disliked the Iran Deal as much as they disrespected the pompous Obama, a worthless President in terms of his foreign policy especially. Corker and Obama are both silly.
