.....
The site's stated mission is to expose all the "scares, scams, junk, panics and flummery cooked up by the media, politicians, bureaucrats and so-called scientists and others that try to confuse the public with wrong numbers" Professor Brignell's motto is "Working to Combat Math Hysteria." ......

Right OK... I thought you actually believed that "teenage drinking" and "sharks booming" were caused by global warming. Thanks for clearing that up. :)

Uh... no. These are just things that have been used to further the global warming agenda. The list is a list of links. Click on each one and you will find the article that makes the claim.

Dear Judge:

Your topic title:

conflicts your trailer:

You apparently are trying to redefine
'global warming'. Are you willing to
fight yourself for so doing?

This (02 Dec 2007) morning at midnight it was 66-degrees-F;
it will be about 34-degrees-F at the next midnight (in
15 minutes). The temperature has dropped all day.

Some one might say "34-degrees? How is that Global Warming?"
The average temperature for 02 Dec is 62 high (in
the afternoon , not in the middle of the night) and
33 in the morning (not evening). Today is higher than
average! Global Warming in action.

BTW, the price of gasoline in Central Oklahoma
when I filled up last (Saturday, 01 Dec 2007) was
$2.86.9 = $2.87 per gallon. Sure helps us gas up
all our 1½-ton Pick-ups (the favorite non-SUV).

The high price of Oil HELPS the State of Oklahoma.
Oklahoma is a net oil exporting place. If oil goes up
to $700 (now just under $100) per 55-gallon - drum =
1 barrel, then Oklahoma will become a first class
welfare State.

Why we used to recycle those 55-gallon-drums
and use them as solid waste containers until the
solid waste could be removed.

A couple things:

I am not a judge.

I am not Paul Pressler

I am not redefining global warming.

I have no idea why you think global warming has anything to do with inerrancy of scripture.

Does this inerrant scripture recommend we
ruin the earth with Global Warming
or rule over it wisely?

Gen 1:28 (Geneva Bible, 1599 Edition):
And God blessed them, and God said to them,
Bring forth fruite and multiplie,
and fill the earth, and subdue it,
and rule ouer the fish of the sea,
and ouer the foule of the heauen,
and ouer euery beast that moueth vpon the earth.

That is retorical. This inerrant scriputre means
we should control ourselves to wisely use
the earth's resources. Does everybody really have
to drive all over the place looking for stuff to buy
when 95% of it can be obtained on-line?
Does everybody have to drive a Hummer 1
SUV 3 blocks to the local mini-market?

Not to derail the thread or anything:

But as a farmer, [IMG] I'm just a bit slow moving, I guess.

(Unlike when I am/was pushing a hack, [IMG]

tractors don't run much beyond about 15 MPH, max.) [IMG]

But, even though I'm a bit slow, I still have one question - I just read about an unusually large winter storm in the Northeast, tah is bringing snowe and ice, at least a month earlier than normal, and a 'warm weather' 'Hurricane type' storm, simultaneously hitting the West Coast, as well, causing melting snow packs in the mountains, and avalanches.

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22054673/

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/22082408/

For all these 'geniuses', how is it we get "warming" on one coast, and "cooling" on the other at the same time?? Or is it just remotely possible, that this is nothing more than a fairly normal variation in the weather?

I cannot find it at the moment, but only toady I read a question asked a poster on another thread, to this effect.

The question asked was, "Exactly how many science degrees do you hold?"

I cannot answer for the poster to whom this was directed but I can answer for myself.

"I (unlike my bride) have earned exactly zero degrees in any 'science area'!

That is the exact same number of degees in any 'science area' earned by Albert Arnold (Al) Gore, Jr."

//For all these 'geniuses', how is it we get "warming"
on one coast, and "cooling" on the other
at the same time??//

Do this experiment:]
Get some hot water that doesn't hurt
to put your hand in it (Maybe 112F)
Get some ice water (32F).
Put your hand in both.
The average temperature is (112+32)/2
= 144/2 = 72F.
72F is a very comfortable just-sitting-around
temperature.
I.E. with one hand in hot water and one hand
in cold water - 'on the average' you are
very comfortable. (Actually not :) but the
average temperature is comfortable).

Here is Global Warming (an act of cumulative
mankind): the average world temperature
is GOING UP.
At any given time, there will be cold places
and hot places (there is a pocket of cold
air in Canada now some -30 in the center,
it may move someday and get some cold somewhere.
Meanwhile, in Central Oklahoma it is warmer
than AVERAGE.

But here is an interesting stat:
Four of the Five hottest years in Oklahoma
have been in the last ten years.
The warmest year was 1933.

More stats: It hasn't rained in central Oklahoma for
six weeks - we are having a mini-drought.
2007 had broken the yearly rainfall amount by
like 20% by the middle of October.

2007 is warmer than usual, wetter than usual.
This is a direct, preditued result from comparing
the equatorial West Pacific surface temp
and the equatorial East Pacific surface temp -
that relation is in an La Nina configuration -
the West is warmer.
In an El Nino configuration, the East Pacific
is warmer and in Oklahoma we have warmer
weather and dryer weather than usual.

P.S. the link in the OP (opening Post) is
suggestive only and not complete. The real case
is probably worse.

Everytime you exhale, you modify the space/time
continuem forever. I know, you didn't choose to
be born, but you were.

//Or is it just remotely possible,
that this is nothing more than a fairly normal variation
in the weather?//

It is remotely possible. Your odds are better at
winning over $1 Million in the bi-yearly (every two years)
Publishers Clearing House sweepstakes.
Have you won yet?
People cause Global Warming.
It is reversable, but the Egyptian coping method
(de-Nile /denial/, you know) will NOT STOP Global
Warming.
Note, until the Soviet Union Callapsed it was much
more likely to have a Nuclear Winter than a Global
Warming. We can go back to that: Nuke Iran for Jesus!

The threat against our resouces is a fallacy. And the case cannot be made via scripture that anyone should drive less.

The list of things it causes me is
• boredom :sleeping_2:
• eye rolling
• confusion at why atheists get so worked up about it when it's just a pointless rock with a bunch of pointless animals on it isn't it?
• annoyance at quasi-pantheist-gaiaists
.....and probably some other things but out of emoticons *winks, grins and waves*

The scripture and I disagree with you.

Rom 12:18 (Geneva Bible, 1599 Edition):

If it bee possible, as much as in you is,
haue peace with all men.

You are at war with those whose stuff
you are using.

Throughout most of the Christian Era
(33AD to date: 2000) most Christians have
eaten sparingly - showing honor to Christ
by fasting 1 or 2 days a week - some
three or four.

Those who do not study history are doomed
to repeat it.

The Roman Empire fell largely because
their breadbasket was North Africa:
a place now called the Sahara Desert.
If they had followed the Old Testament command
and let that land lie fallow each 7th year
(Sabbath Year), the same
area could today feed 2 Billion people - using modern
methods of SUSTAINABLE agriculture.

Let me warn you about the coming famine.
