Well, basically, I am so modest that I can only answer one of these poll questions--I don't leave home without makeup. The rest of it, I can't answer because it's too embarrassing and I generally wouldn't discuss this type of thing with folks I don't know!

Don't ever change clothes in front of anyone but my husband. Rarely wear makeup.

[IMG]Most men that have participated in sports from high school up or have served in the military have had all sense of modesty "stripped".

I would not use the term you used for breaking wind. Over hear, that is "an offensive, slang term for releasing gases from the anus".

I took "#2" to mean the same as our British children's term "number twos", that is defecation. (Not many children use that term , or "Number Ones" for urination, nowadays). I certainly would not do that in public.

I always leave home without make-up. Come to that, I don't wear make-up in the home, either!

I, also, found the "f" word offensive. It may not be found offensive material in your home as it is in mine, but I find it offensive to be found of a Christian board. Could you remove it please? I also did not and will not partake in that poll due to some words and sentences. Thank you.

I don't find the word offensive, only the action.

I should explain that I was not criticizing the OP - I had just assumed that the word was perfectly acceptable in America. From what I have seen of SaggyWoman's posts, I cannot imagine her deliberately being offensive, and I was not accusing her of such.

There are a lot of things in America that aren't considered "offensive" anymore, but a current dictionary will tell you that the "f" word is slang and offensive in "some" places. There are certain words Christians should refrain from. Using substitutes for curse words and using slang words should be eliminated from a Christians mouth, in my opinion. Why shouldn't it?

1 Thessalonians 5:22 - "Abstain from all appearance of evil."

My friend, if you find this particular "f" word offensive, not returning to this thread will help you "Abstain from all appearance of evil." Just a thought.

    yep, extremely offensive.
But I'd also rather not hear the word spoken in a group of people either.
It doesn't bother me on this thread though. In most places it isn't an offensive word, I guess it depends on where you live.

I believe I have abstained from the appearance of evil concerning this. I have not looked at the word since and I have made it publicly clear to everyone that I don't talk like that and find such words offensive. I guess it worked, since you advised me to leave this thread.

Hmmm, I had to vote none of the above. I prefer not to do most of them, but you know, life happens! :p

What I find offensive is the smell. I, too, have never worn make up. As for dressing or undressing in front of others, many years of gym class all through school, military service where privacy is non-existent, married life, and many hospital and doctor visits have helped to take away my body shame. Of course, being involved for years with non-sexual social nudity in a nudist resort took away ALL of my shame and embarrassment. So let the criticism and condemnation begin. :tonofbricks:

Where were you when we needed you over on the modesty thread in general discussions?

The most recent instance where I got undressed & showered with others was on a 7 day bike tour, where we rode from town to town.

We were allowed like 10 minutes to shower, everyone is sweaty so no one pays much attention to one another. We must hurry.

Plannning to do another Bike Tour in September.

There were portable showers and toilets, and we camped out most of the time in public parks. I am comfortable with bikers so that was fine.

One night we shared a hotel room, so it was nice to have the privacy.

Otherwise, I do not get undressed in front of strangers, ever. (Except bikers)

I do not shower in groups unless it's a necessity.
