I guess your version of "keepers at home" means on a wants vs needs basis?

I never said there was something wrong with women working, in fact, in the service industry, I have found that a woman answering the phone is oftentimes more knowledgable than the rest of the guys at the sales counter.

Then why did the Apostles do just that? And they did it under inspiration on top of all that.

Well, although you jumped to a conclusion, my wife is right now napping after doing about 6 hours in the home. She ate the grapes and decided it would be nice to just go lie down.:sleeping_2:

All due respects to you and johnv, but the apostles did not dictate on how they are to behave familially.
The restriction is against women taking up rulership in the house of God.

Just keep on doing exactly what you're doing, you won't regret it and odds show he will.

Children carry that close knit home atmosphere all throughout their lives. When you are old and feeble, unable to care for yourself, the chances are that at least one of your children will be there for you.

"My version" of the phrase is scripturally consistent. You have a problem with that.
They didn't. As previously noted, Paul was not dictating how we are to behave familially. His admonition was against younger women usurping rulership in the house of God.

Oh? I thought it was the fact women are known to be much more tedious in matters of cleanliness than men.

The facts are still intact, I have in no way dictated to my wife what she does in the home or in the workplace. We accept the biblical way to have a home where God is NOT the co-pilot.

The only dictating I do to her is tell her to kiss me when I want her to KISS me!

Sure it is, that's why we don't see you telling anyone what it is. That leaves us no other conclusion that your bible exists in the figment of your imagination.

Oh? So in your opinion it is derailing a thread because I don't behave as the one who is guilty of the things in your inflammatory thread?

I know how you work and thought it best to defend myself against your accusations.

I'll run to the defense of any lady, but if she wants to wear a tool belt and welding tools dangling off it that is her perogative. It would also mean she is probably well fit to handle herself in any confrontation.

No. Let a woman know well in advance company is coming. She'll thank you and watch her go!

Let her know about 5 minutes before company is supposed to arrive and she'll move faster, but she's gritting her teeth and waiting for the next chance to let you have it.

Let a man know he's got company coming and he's stuffing things down into the couch.

I know what your problem is now, you really do think you're part of the "Q" (too much Star Trek, The Next Generation)

Maybe he shouldn't be living so "high on the hog"?

We live in a modular home.:saint:

Hmmm - that's quite a bit of stereotyping, isn't it??

I know some women who wouldn't care what their house looked like but they would be at the door welcoming anyone who crossed the threshold. I also know many men who are better hosts than women are! But that's about natural inclinations and "bents". That's not about role.

But then again, a good home is run so that no warning is needed. That's how I try to deal with it here. Yeah, we're not always clean and perfect but I'm about people, not dust bunnies. :) Stop by my house anytime and I won't look to let anyone have it. It's not just my home but my husband's. Why should he be punished for not "warning" me? That makes NO sense.

The fact that you expect this of her says a lot about you. Sad. Sadder even more than you would disparage other husbands so.

Don't you know the wifey is the only one supposed to do the dishes, vacuum, dust, make the beds, laundry...

NO wonder we have big dumb goons that don't know how to cook or clean when their wives die.

This 50s mentality of "Leave it to Beaver".. or "Andy Griffith" really needs to die!...

I'm secure enough in my manhood to split the chores 50/50...
    Too bad other men aren't

no, no, paul, you got it all wrong.
    I'm the ape.
There've been some posters in the past, some still here and some gone, who think I've got a simian brain, so I wanted to make them happy.
you know, love your enemies and all that jazz ?
    I love apes, man.
Had a pet monkey once back in me ole country in me ole farm who was better than any guard dog.
    I tells ya.
Ain't no one who can just go pick up any of my piglets, or the neighbors'.
He knows each and every other animal around the neighborhood and which one belongs to whom he'd raise a ruckus heard miles around if anyone attempted to steal one of them.
