A person is "free" or "has liberty" if

    People here and elsewhere talk about freedom and liberty but when I ask what they do differently if they had more liberty and the response usually has something to do with paying less taxes or smoking pot. What defines "freedom?"

    I don't know how to make the poll work but for example:

    1. Jesus makes h1m free even if he is in jail.

    2. He has no obligations to strangers.

    3. He has no living relatives.

    4. He has "nothing left to lose."

    5. He can move and take his family with him.

    6. He can move ans take portable assets with him.

    7. He can change jobs.

    8. He doesn't have to pay taxes.

    9. He can grow, make, drink, or smoke anything he chooses.

    10. he is can sexually "prefer" anyone or anything.

    11. There are no "victimless" crime laws.

    12. Anyone can carry any firearm in public.

    13. Any religion can build structures and conduct any sort of "worship"

    14. There is no censorship of any opinion.

    15. There is no regulating of dress in public

    16. There are copywrite laws.

    17. There are no discrimination laws.

    18. Activities on one's own property are not regulated.

    19. there are no business regulations.

    Bill, I found the following by clicking on FAQ, and searching for "poll":
    Creating a new poll

    When you post a new thread, you may have the option to also create a poll.

    This function allows you to ask a question and specify a number of possible responses. Other members will then be able to vote for the response they wish, and the results of the voting will be displayed in the thread.

    An example poll might be:

    What is your favorite color?

    Red
    Blue
    Yellow
    Green
    Sky-blue pink with yellow spots
    To create a poll when you post a new thread, simply click the 'Yes! post a poll' checkbox at the bottom of the page, and set the number of possible responses you want to include.

    When you click the submit button, you will be taken to the poll creation page, where you can specify the question and the list of responses you want to include.

    You may also want to specify a time limit for the poll, so that (for example) it only stays open for voting for a week.

    I assume you are thinking of the freedom Jesus meant in John 8:36, when He said, "If the Son makes you free, you shall be free indeed." But if so, many of your 19 are to do with national legislation, varying from country to country (5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12,13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19). A few are directly opposite to the freedom Christ gives (2, 3, 4). That leaves 1. "Jesus makes him free even if he is in jail." In one sense that is true. Paul and Silas still had Christ's freedom even when they were in jail at Philippi. I'm really not sure what you mean by your poll - sorry, Bill! (By the way, I think the maximum number of choices in a poll is 10).

    Thanks for the info.

    Probably a waste of time to do it right.

    Possibly you agree that "freedom" is a mental state and has nothing to do with external circumstances?
