Explain in detail. Remember, we are not as spiritually mature as you are.

Only because so many of you (not all) are ready to kill in Jesus name. Most pick out that verse and ignore that Jesus reprimanded Peter for using a sword, after He told them to buy swords. See it?

Reprimanded for its general use, or for that specific situation? What other purpose than for defense would Christ have had in mind when he instructed them to buy swords? Culinary use?

One may get the impression that you do not know what you are talking about because you will not explain your point in your own words.

    So far . . .

I see you accusing people who wish to defend their own lives and those of their families of "killing in Jesus name".

Peter cut off a guard's ear dude, and got reprimanded for it.
I can tell you have not even bothered to read all of Luke chapter 22, only verse 36 is stuck in your heart because you fear, I understand that. I'll start another thread on it so more people can join the discussion.

In everything you do, do it in His name. If you think you are going to kill because He gives you permission, do it in His name. Otherwise you have a confused idea about taking a life. Kill in faith if you think Jesus instructs you to kill.

Why did Christ instruct them to by swords?

Why is an armed police officer not displaying the same lack of faith that an armed civilian is?

That's a red herring on a lame horse.

You're the only one here equating armed self defense with "killing in Jesus name".

You're trying to explain why the idea of armed self defense (using a weapon to save innocent lives) is un biblical for individual Christians remember?

    You're making it up.

No one here has said,or indicated in any way, they are "ready to kill in Jesus name".

Why would anyone listen to your inflated opinion of your bible interpretation skills after telling such a lie in the beginning?

Here you claim using a single verse out of context is a dangerous thing.

Here you are telling us the same thing.

Here you are using a single verse out of context to convince that . . . I'm not sure, using a single verse out of context is a dangerous thing?

I pray everyday for the safety of my spouse, kids and grandkids. I will say this in open forum. If anyone ever harms my family, I will hunt them down arrested or not, and will immediately dispatch their soul to the Lord.
