That makes no sense at all, and that is a misread of Scripture. You save yourself into the Beloved (since you will yourself to be there, using the spiritual ability that you were born with) and then you are predestined to adoption as sons????

Our sonship is a spiritual adoption, inseparable from our salvation. Unregenerate soils do not have spiritual ability. You don't save yourself, though you may soil yourself with those exegetical gymnastics.

Actually, shows us that the bible, especially the Gospel, DOES indeed reach and affect those whose herats were prepared by God to receive it, while the rest were still, sinners who would ultimatily reject it!

The Gospel is the very power of Godto save those who have been chosen/elected by God in jesus, but the rest hear it and are one of the "bad soils!"

What makes no sense whatsoever is Calvinism. Anyone can make those kind of blanket dismissive statements, devoid of content. They are the essence of shuck and jive.

No one saves themselves by entering by their own power or merit into Christ. Recall I already referred to Romans 9:16 which says it does not depend upon the man that will. So yet another misrepresentation of an opponent, devoid of truth or merit.

3 of the 4 souls had sufficient spiritual ability to hear and understand the milk of the gospel and receive it with joy. So your statement "the unregenerate do not have spiritual ability" is yet another denial of scripture. You have to nullify passage after passage to cling to Calvinism.

To repeat, 1) it is God alone who puts those of His choosing into Christ through faith in the truth. 2 Thessalonians 2:13. Our faith provides our access to the grace in which we stand, Romans 5:2. Thus faith before regeneration.

    2) God alone credits our faith as righteousness, it has no merit or righteousness of its own, it is simply yet another filthy rag. Again, salvation is by grace through faith and not of works.

    3) Yes we are given the right to become sons of God when we are spiritually born again and indwelt. Since we become spiritual sons of God when we are reborn, regenerated, made alive, arise in Christ a new creation, our future adoption is our bodily resurrection, Romans 8:23, and that adoption is predestined once a person is spiritually born anew. John 1:12-13.

Final thought, what kind of exegetical gymnastics does Calvinism use to rewrite Romans 8:23. When Paul uses the term translated adoption, he is referring (4 times out of 5) to our bodily resurrection. This is the plain reading of the text, no gymnastics required.

One consistent trait of all Calvinists is they start by saying if we are spiritually dead we are unable to hear and understand the gospel because we are dead. But when I point to Matthew 13:1-26, then they change their claim and say no one can receive it in a way that results in salvation. Then I point to the fourth soil. So then they make an argument from complete silence, why the fourth soil was regenerated even though the other three were not and regeneration is not mentioned anywhere. The Doctrine of Scripture alone must be nullified in order to defend Calvinism. Words like world mean this here, but that there, all means everything imaginable here, but only what the context requires there, and on and on.

Calvinism is not a biblical doctrine, it is an extra-biblical doctrine where exegetical gymnastics are used to make passage after passage say the opposite of what it says. From the beginning becomes before the beginning, saved by grace through faith becomes saved by grace then given faith.

On and on it goes, and the penny never drops. :)

You just did a classic job of it Van.

Boy are you dead wrong! You would not have felt at home during the Reformation at all.

I don't think anyone on your side of the theological fence would even agree with your novel stance there Van.

Actually were not these doctrines already stamped across both the OT and NT, Romans chapter 8 alone would provide us the doctrine of election. It is unmistakable to all but those who read with their eyes closed and their ears shut.

"And not only this, but also we ourselves, having the first fruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting eagerly for adoption as sons, the redemption of our body." Romans 8:23 NASB

Anyone who denies adoption refers to our bodily resurrection denies the very words of God.

It does not matter whether you imply I am a fool, question my heritage, slice and dice my posts to alter what I said, the question remains, how does Calvinism rewrite Romans 8:23 to make adoption refer to anything else but our bodily resurrection?

Calvinism is a mistaken doctrine that must nullify, rewrite and redefine passage after passage, including Romans 8:23.

Apostle john makes it clear throughout His Gospel that its the Will Of god that determines who will be saved by the Grace of God, and that we cecome sons of God through adoption by receiving Christ by faith alone!

Yet another post of complete fiction, the Apostle John makes the opposite clear.

The will of God is whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life.

John never uses the term adoption, only Paul.

John makes it clear we are given the right to become children of God after we believe, and are born anew from above, John 1:12-13.

Yeshua1 posts have no basis in scripture, he posts the mistaken claims of Calvinism.

Yet another post claiming the opposite of Romans 8:23. Folks, just read scripture and ask the question why Calvinism cannot accept it?

Note also the reversal, scripture says we have been glorified at salvation Romans 8:30, the opposite of what Yeshua1 posts, and says our adoption has not happened even though saved, Roman 8:23. Calvinism mangles one scripture after another.

We receive glorification at the time of either the Second Coming or rapture, depending upon how you see the timing!

yes, but those who will be able to place faith in yeshua to get saved will be those elected beforehand by God!

he provides the enabling for them to become the children of God!

Note the shuck and jive, we have been past tense glorified, but not yet adopted according to scripture. Yeshua1 asserts the opposite. Just read Romans 8:23 and 8:30 folks, Calvinism presents the opposite of scripture time and again.

More fiction, one post after another, without any reference to God's word which clearly and plainly says the opposite.

2 Thessalonians 2:13 says we are chosen, elected, for salvation through faith in the truth. This is plain, straightforward, and ignored or nullified by Calvinism. Just read scripture folks, Calvinism is a mistaken doctrine.

Consider this truth, to be saved by grace through faith means our faith existed before we were saved by grace. Such a simple truth. Yet each and every Calvinism says, nope, what this really means is we are saved then given faith. Again and again Calvinism asserts the opposite of scripture.

IF we are not yet adopted by God, we are NOT sealed by the Spirit, nor part of the Body of Christ, and are still sinners under wrath of God!

Glorification is final stage in iour salvation process with God, as being adopted qualififed us to be glorified!
