Maybe, I don't know. But I do know from my grandparents, great-aunts and uncles, parents, and other older family members that it is not an organization for the rights or even most of the time even caring about the problems that older people have. They take dues but are very unresponsive to the ones that give them money.

I boggled my mind when the AARP supported Bush's revision to Medicare and THEN the ads for AARP insurance started.

Supporting Bush's Prescription extension to Medicare was definitely a mistake. I personally was glad to see AARP announce insurance. For those of us who will count on Medicare (don't bet on it) it's good to see group plans come along. I think the only thing they offer right now is Medicare extensions.

Then why is the AARP Medicare Supplement more expensive than their competitors?

BTW - AARP does not own any insurance companies. They just get their Name attached to another company's product and I'm sure get a big cut!!!

What's sad is you don't recognize the nature of socialism.

    It's not an a-la-carte restaurant.

When you give government too much power, it doesn't like to give any back.

Waiting months to get an emergency MRI? Being part of a lottery drawing to possibly get a health care provider? Needing to travel to a country with a capitalist form of health care in order to get adequate medical attention? I can sure see why socialized medicine makes so much sense! Yippee! Where do we sign up??
