There is a difference between defending your family, and taking someone in your custody and torturing them.

Just so you can see the difference.

    1. The person trying to harm your family is not in your control. They are not physically restrained.

    2. The person being waterboarded is a prisoner. They are restrained. They are in your control.

The rest of what you said is simply a sad attempt by a Christian to justify supporting an act of evil.

Saying abortion is more evil than torture, doesn't change the fact that torture is evil.

Both are evil. Neither should be supported by Christians.

    peace to you:praying:

Yet you speak out against the one, demanding it stop, and you say the other cannot be stopped, so it is not a big deal.

I believe that abortion is Satanic, because it kills innocent life. A baby has done nothing wrong to deserve to be murdered.

Waterboarding does not kill. It doesn't have any long lasting effects like other interrogation techniques that other countries have used.

For those that believe that waterboarding is torture & abortion is not, you need to find out how abortions are carried out. The after knowing that, try telling yourself that abortion is not torturous.

I'm sure the next thing that opponents of waterboarding would say is that police officers shouldn't be allowed to carry tasers because when they use them, it tortures people. Think about it. If a person is placed under arrest & they resist, they get tazed. If the person continues to resist, he gets tazed over & over again until the police gain the his compliance. How come we don't hear opponents making this arguement?

Because its effective. The same could be said of waterboarding. When waterboarding techniques were used back when Nancy Pelosi couldn't remember whether she was briefed or not, the CIA uncovered a terrorist plot in Los Angeles. To say that waterboarding is ineffective is totally wrong.

Waterboarding is not just about the one in custody but it is also about his buddies who are not and want to mass murder and need to be stopped and the fact that he will not freely give up this info makes him just as dangerous physically restrained or not.

I disagree. The detainees in Gitmo are not as dangerous as terrorists running free to carry out plots, whether they know about the plots or not.

Both abortion and torture are evil. Christians should not support either.

    peace to you:praying:

Christians have the responsibility to speak against all sorts of evil, even when it is supported by other Christians.

You are most certainly free to disagree but in your disagreement you have to ignore facts. Withholding knowledge of an attack is equally as dangerous as doing it your self. The end result is the same.

True. We will never know if ALL of the 19 hijackers knew what the end result was going to be. It may have been just some of them knew they were going to die and only key people on each flight knew the end game. But the planners knew.

I do not believe waterboarding is satanic. Abortion definitely is, because the end result is murder of innocent life. I do not believe all war is satanic, either, even though innocent life may be lost for the greater good. This was certainly true in Biblical times as it is today.

It is simply untrue that someone in custody, in a jail cell, is just as dangerous as someone who is free to carry out terrorist attacks.

I am not ignoring facts. I am attempting to live by the Word of God, the teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ, which is clearly contrary to the concept to torture.

If you can't see that, then you are ignoring the teachings of our Lord.

    peace to you:praying:

If you are able to kill the person who is attempting to kill your family then presumably he is at some point in your control, if only for an instant.

It is really pathetic for one who claims to follow Jesus Christ to put water boarding which has no lasting effect on the recipient with the slaughter of 50,000,000 unborn babies.

Furthermore, whether water boarding is torture is a matter of opinion. My opinion is that you are being overly pious. I could be wrong just as you could be wrong about water boarding or Christians trying to justify an evil act.

I cannot say peace to you. My prayer is that GOD will open your eyes to the difference between pouring water in some ones face to save an untold number of lives and the deliberate slaughter of unborn children.

Actually if these terrorists are moved to federal prisons they will become more dangerous since they will be able to convert other prisoners to Islam. It is a proven fact that many prisoners are converted to Islam by the so-called chaplins.

If they are withholding information that can save lives then they are just as dangerous. Period. You have to ignore that the end results are the same.

It is evil not to protect your own citizenry. It is negligence of the highest order.

You are stretching. There is no doubt that the terrorist is in your control when they are in jail. There is plenty of doubt as to who has control in a life and death struggle to save your family.
It is pathetic for Christians who often claim to follow the Word of God to ignore it when it doesn't fit what they want to believe.
What is not a matter of opinion is that scripture clearly tells us as Christians "not to repay evil for evil" and to "pray for those who persecute you" and to show compassion for your enemies and to imitate the perfect patience of Jesus Christ when dealing with sinners.
It is my opinion you are not being pious enough.
Scripture is not wrong. That's why we have to follow scripture, and torture is contrary to scripture.
I can tell the difference. You cannot see, or refuse to admit, that both are evil.

You are attempting to downplay the evil of torture by comparing it to the evil of abortion.

Murder is worse than bearing false witness, yet both are condemned and forbidden by God. Satan is a liar and a murderer from the beginning. They are mentioned together, and both are condemned.

One is worse than the other, yet both are Satanic and originated with Satan.

Would you downplay the evil of lying by comparing it to the evil of murder? Would you say, "which is Satanic, murder or lying?"

I suspect Satan is laughing at us, Chrisitians, debating whether abortion or torture is Satanic when both are evil.

And even if you can't say it to me...

    peace to you:praying:

The end results are not the same.

With one, you don't violate the commands of our Lord Jesus Christ, and compromise your faith by supporting what is evil.

    peace to you:praying:
