Actors Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie more powerful than Obama

This is the kind of tripe that the press publishes to try to take American minds off their real problems. Politicians love it also. Who really cares about Brad Pitt, etc.???

 

easy to say, but holds no truth in the real world. the fact is stars hold a lot of power in the real world. look at people, imitate famous people, why do you think theres' always some star testifying in congress about something, remember the apples and alar(sp?) in the 80's, anything about nature and abuse of it, or stuff they just plain don't like,etc. when they speak people listen, for some reason people think they(stars) KNOW something, their ecperts or soemthing. Thats why you see them in tv commercials, magazine ads. so like it or not, yes stars have power in the world, and a lot of people care what they think. which is pitiful, but true.

 

Yep, you are right and it shows how shallow so many people are. In their personal lives many actors/actresses are what we should point out as how not to live your life.

 

We could also edit that to say- "In their personal lives many politicians are what we should point out as how not to live your life."

And kindly take that there as a non-partisan sentiment.

I see Al (Global Warming) Gore is in the top ten and Bill Clinton is number 11 but I don't see Bush anywhere. Obama is just starting to get onto the stage.

 

American's will never get over their fascination with celebrity. I recall watching Anne Heche on TV on September 10, 2001, being interviewed about how aliens talked to her. The next morning, we all had bigger fish to fry.
