Well Bill - heres the thing we can start dancing into semantics here

See when the Gospel is preached in simplest terms this is what happens (roughly)

    1 Holy Spirit inspires preacher
    2 Preacher preaches the Gospel
3 The Holy Spirit through the medium of the Gospel attacks every persons conscience scrubbing and picking away at the sins
4 The Gospel acts as well to provide "evidence" or regenerates man enough to believe
    5 audience reacts

this is a really poor example - but it does highlight the basic idea of what happens every time the Gospel is preached.

For the most part I could go along with this, as long as you mean what I think you mean (I guess that's the semantical part.)

I would say that I don't know that the preacher is so much inspired as are the words he is preaching, if that makes since. The scripture, or the gospel, is god-breathed not the words of every preacher who preaches. The apostles or prophets were the only "preachers" who were given the authority to speak/write inspired words. We, as preachers today, pass on those inspired words by expounding upon the scripture, but I do see what you mean.

Why should His message be different than His LOVE or His Grace. They are given to all mankind, but not all mankind respond to them either.

I think I should add here that we should also take great care to not take scripture out of the Word of God also. That is as dangerous as removing from context, or more so, IMHO.

I agree, which is why I have not done that.

Dallas, these general blanket accusations of me leaving out scripture are not getting us anywhere. You must be specific. If you have a problem with what I'm saying tell me what verse I'm violating or ignoring and why you think that and then I can respond. That is the way debate works. Thanks. [IMG]
