This has just emerged in our family and we are seeing the hurt and desire of a sweet young lady (evidently my niece) who has spent decades with a "hole" in her heart from missing a genetic family.

41 years old and found us! Amazing story and just unfolded on Saturday and Sunday.

Wonder if any have had experiences with/as adopted children? I need ways to help restore 41 years of a missed life . .

Dr. Bob, my cousin Melissa, found her birth mother this past year and a number of siblings who treated her quite odd when they all 'met'. She had taken my aunt and uncle with her but she was pretty hurt by the reception.

I'm so thankful that won't happen with YOUR niece and know she'll be loved to pieces!

There was a `reverse ` of this on the news today, i.e. parents who gave up children for adoption may now be able to contact them. There was a man on who said he gave up his son for adoption because his wife had a nervous breakdown, and now he has contacted his son, who is in Australia. It was 41 years since he`d seen him.
