Thats just the point. You believe the elect will be saved regardless. You are betting souls on your belief system.

Reynolds can you only answer me by making a false statement.
Theelect the going to be saved. Now where do you see me saying they're going to be saved regardless? I've always posted that God saved the elect through his appointedmeans,so why would you insinuate otherwise

No one follows Calvin. We, who you label Calvinists, follow God's word. That John Calvin also followed God's word cannot be denied.
What grieves the Spirit is when both you and I label each other by someone else's name, as though we follow a person other than Christ Jesus.
Where you and I differ is in our understanding of key passages in God's word. Because we differ so greatly, one of us cannot be correct and it is possible that neither of us is correct. How then shall we discern this? We discern by looking at passages together and observing what the passage says and what the context reveals. We lay out our observations, our questions and our answers to those questions. Then we discuss why we answer the questions differently. That's how iron sharpens iron.

Are you saying that you do not believe the elect will be saved apart from the work of Christian men and women sharing the gospel?

How might God choose to save the elect? Does he send his children as ambassadors? Is that the only means?

That is fine Hank. I miss TC as well.
I was not trying to say anything except I have listened to Mr.Rogers on Roman's 8 and Roman's 9.
He had nothing but error upon error on those messages.
I already said many spoke well of him on other topics.
Now Hank that was you that introduced Calvin into this thread in post 22.?
So....what were you trying to say?

No one's betting souls on a belief system.
They are giving God the credit He deserves in saving someone.

For all the things he got right, I'm sure God used him to edify his people...but Adrian Rogers did not understand how and why God saves someone.

If only the elect will get saved - then there is no need for witnessing.

    Hank,
I get tired of people thinking every great orator is a God-ordained preacher...
    They aren't.
But you have the right to review every teacher for yourself, and be persuaded that he is a true one or a false one.

I grew up liking Adrian and I admired him for his messages of Scriptural truth in a great many areas.
I also personally sat under the preaching of Dr. Carl Hatch, a "Traditionalist", and God used the Scriptures He preached to convince me of my need for a Saviour and my sinfulness before God...

Regardless, if someone gets the Gospel or a doctrine wrong, he's wrong, who matter who likes him.
    I'm reminded of this passage:

" Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets." ( Luke 6:26 ).

So the first person I'm going to look at as a preacher that might fit this passage, is the person most of you people probably think was a heretic...
    Rolf Barnard.
    He wasn't popular at all.
Neither was Henry Mahan or DJ Ward.

But the first person I can think of who everyone spoke highly of, is Billy Graham.
    He was world-famous.

What did Jesus say about those that all speak highly of?
