So a person who is born again commits a crime that warrants the Death Penalty
He is found guilty and sentence to death- upon his execution -

Yes, we believe he goes to Heaven - BUT what will his reception be?
Joyous, sorrowful, seeking to re-unite with others, ect?

Will some say - Well done they servant?
Or will the murdered victim be there to welcome him?

(and no - I am not thinking of anyone in particular. )

FTR - I started this thread based on a FB page. We were discussing the death penalty.
this girl is against it -

    Here is her comments:

    • It's not a punishment. They don't suffer, think or feel afterwards. If you believe in heaven and hell you are either sending them there early and denying them the intended life span God gave them at best and at worst denying them redemption through time.
If you don't believe then you are just ending their existence. That's not punishment. It's revenge, just in PC form. The only real purpose for the death penalty is to make the survivors feel better.
    • Death isn't a punishment. It's a biological function we will all have eventually. No matter what you think happens after it still isn't a punishment because we will all get there.

Some are saved (as the criminal on the cross) but rewards are denied (2 Corinthians 5:10)

I think we will be surprised by some of those we find in heaven and and some we expect to see are not there. I've wondered at times if salvation is by grace alone, what's to prevent Ted Bundy from being there? Didn't Dobson seem to think he made it?

I agree. I also believe Bundy was converted. It's hard to say because he was a sociopath and thus a master manipulator. I think he got saved.

I believe he will be welcomed home with rejoicing, just like any other child of God.

After all, if Jesus didn't die for sinners, then who in the world did He die for?
