Netanyahu is following the plan (Clean Break). To anticipate U.S. reactions and plan ways to manage and constrain those reactions. Prime Minister Netanyahu can formulate the policies and stress themes he favors in language familiar to the Americans by tapping into themes of American administrations during the Cold War which apply well to Israel.

It certainly sounds as if the good folks here are falling in line with (falling for) the "cold war themes".

Some folks it would seem never get tired of being "managed and constrained" and their "reactions" prove it.

What happens when Iran goes nuclear? Democrats don't have a good record with Iran.

Iran hasn't "eliminated" anything. and they won't.

Only fools would believe anything they say.

Iran is a terrorist state, and like Obama would rather climb a tree and tell a lie than to stand on the ground and tell the truth. They are no friend in fact they are our enemy.

Saudi Arabia is a terrorist state but we never hear you condemning it.

Washington uses terror and the threat of terror to force it's will on other countries but we never hear you condemning it.

The Washington backed Ukrainian coup govt is using terror and the threat of terror to force it's will on ethnic Russians in Ukraine but we never hear you condemn it.

It seems your hypocrisy knows no bounds Rev.

Likud operatives? No, more like Israel's useful idiots. They only see what they want to see and hear what they want to hear.

They claim to be against terrorism but remain silent when Washington and it's "allies" like Saudi Arabia uses it to destabilize and force their will on other nations.

Is Iran a terrorist state? Yes, but that is no reason to overlook the fact that Israel and our other "allies" use terror and the threat of terrorism to force their will on others even more so than Iran.

I'm starting to believe hypocrisy is the natural state of those who call themselves Christian conservatives. I used to think it was due to ignorance and that the shear weight of evidence would someday change that but now I see no amount of evidence will convince them.

Evidently it's easier for them to look the other way when their side commits the same crimes they accuse the other side of committing than to admit their side is just as guilty or even more so.

Isn't that the very definition of hypocrisy?

Excellent essay: Christian Zionism: The new heresy that sways America

The Political Agenda of Christian Zionism

"...7. Conclusions: The Political Implications of Christian Zionism

We have seen how Christian Zionism as a movement has profound and deeply destructive political consequences. Christian Zionists have shown varying degrees of enthusiasm for implementing six basic theological convictions that arise from their literal and futurist reading of the Bible:

    1. The belief that the Jews remain God’s chosen people leads Christian Zionists to a justification for Israel’s military occupation of Palestine.

    2. As God’s chosen people, the final restoration of the Jews to Israel is therefore actively encouraged and facilitated through partnerships between Christian organisations and the Jewish Agency.

    3. Eretz Israel, as delineated in scripture, belongs exclusively to the Jewish people, therefore the land must be annexed and the settlements adopted and strengthened.

    4. Jerusalem is regarded as the eternal and exclusive capital of the Jews, and cannot be shared with the Palestinians. Therefore, strategically, Western governments are placed under pressure by Christian Zionists to relocate their embassies to Jerusalem and thereby recognise the fact.

    5. The Third Temple has yet to be built, the priesthood consecrated and sacrifices reinstituted. As dispensational Christian Zionists, in particular, believe this is prophesied, they offer varying degrees of support to the Jewish Temple Mount organisations committed to achieving it.

    6. Since Christian Zionists are convinced there will be an apocalyptic war between good and evil in the near future, there is no prospect for lasting peace between Jews and Arabs. Indeed, to advocate Israel compromise with Islam or coexist with Palestinians is to identify with those destined to oppose God and Israel in the imminent battle of Armageddon.

Clearly, not all Christian Zionists embrace these views with the same degree of conviction or involvement. Nevertheless, it has been argued, the overall consequences of such uncritical support for the State of Israel, especially among Evangelicals, is inherently and pathologically destructive, not least to the very Jewish people they claim to love. At the first major international and ecumenical conference to examine this issue, held in Jerusalem in April this year, under the auspices of Sabeel, over 600 delegates affirmed a declaration which included the following. “We reject the heretical teachings of Christian Zionism that facilitate and support … a form of racial exclusivity and perpetual war rather than the gospel of universal love, redemption and reconciliation taught by Jesus Christ.

In addition to the GOP bringing politics into the Israeli - US relationship, hoping to embarrass Obama, Netanyahu is also playing politics hoping to aid his party in the upcoming elections in Israel.

Shame on both for putting their parties ahead of their national interests.

What happens when Iran gets the atomic bomb? Why has Obama sent his campaign operatives into Israel to campaign against Netanyahu--is that playing politics?

Do you mean how China raped Tibet and how Russia raped Crimea? Are you saying that Iran will be forced to rape Israel?

None of you have answered the question of what happens when Iran gets the atomic bomb, which preceded your question by several posts. We all know that Iran wants to annihilate the Jews in the Middle East and the Democrats and paleo-cons don't have any plan to stop Iran and not one of you has denied Iran's intentions.

Supposing that Hillary gets her turn, and she says that it is now her turn, and Iran gets the atomic bomb either under Obama or under Hillary, neither one of whom want Iran stopped--in fact, Hillary will even get American Jewish votes and money to allow her election.

There is no doubt that Iran will declare war on Israel and there is no doubt that Iran will use atomic weapons against Israel as soon as possible. It is as sure as the Russian rape of the Crimea.

I answered that question long ago by posting the 2007 intelligence report that makes it pretty plain Iran stopped it's quest for an atomic bomb. But as usual you're more compelled by your own fears and biases than the evidence.

Suppose Saudi Arabia gets the atomic bomb?

    http://www.timesofisrael.com/saudi-arabia-reportedly-purchased-nukes-from-pakistan/

Do you trust them to keep nuclear weapons out of the hands of the Islamic extremists they and their allies in Washington have been funding and arming since the Afghan - Soviet war?

And what about God? Israel is under His protection. Evidently you don't have much faith in His ability to protect Israel if you think it will be "wiped off the map" unless Washington starts another long and costly war after starting a string of long and costly wars it can't seem to win or finish.

When it comes to faith I put mine in God rather than the warmongers and fear peddlers in Washington DC, Tel Aviv and the corporate media how about you?

What's taking so long CMG, having trouble trying to compose another "guilt by association" fallacy to counter my questions?
