It becomes a problem if so called space aliens show up with their UFOs claiming that they created us a few million years ago and now they're back to help us and to solve the problems of humanity. This is when it becomes a problem. And if aliens are indeed satanic then this is exactly what they will do if they show up. They will present themselves as our creators or maybe also our neighbors and then for most people evolution will be an absolute fact and there will be no more room for God.

No, I don't know all that was on it, but I do know that it was not edifying. The rule is that we post only those sites which are either Baptist, or not anti-Baptist. In other words one can post reference sites such as dictionaries, encyclopedias, etc., but not sites to other religions. I realize that the decision is somewhat subjective, but there has to be a line drawn somewhere as to what is acceptable and what is not. I didn't think that that link was very acceptable for this board, and so I deleted it.

hmmmmmmmmmm that kinda reminds me of the Pope with his fish hat on and the myth of the guy who supposedly came walking out of the ocean that was half fish and half man.. cant remember his name, I think it started with an "O"...

    oh yeah here it is..

According to legend of Sumerian history and the origins of our civilization, Oannes was a "fish man" who emerged from the sea in a fish skin and taught the Sumerians "letters, arts and sciences".

and not sure but I think supposedly he came from Atlantis or something like that...

    Step 1 -- "Do aliens exist" --

i have to think that almost everyone on this board will admit that Angels are not humans -- so "yes aliens exist".

Step 2 -- Are there other Aliens besides Angels (good and bad angels)?

That ends up being the debate here.

I believe that God did make other worlds - with intelligent sinless beings.

But having said that - I STILL think that the UFO sightings are nothing more than "bad angels" messing around with mankind. (in those rare cases where it is a real space ship being witnessed)

Which means that you are not getting beyond the "good angel vs bad angel" topic by simply showing a UFO.

It would be like Videos of a "seance" claiming to show the supernatural. I would STILL claim that you are not really seeing dead people -- you are seeing evil angels messing with humans for the sake of promoting pure error.

Yes, but the thing which I find hard to grasp is that angels which usually move in the supernatural realm build a real space ship to fly around with. This is like a fish building a submarine to be able to swim underwater. This is a bit hard to grasp. I also ask myself where do they have the technology and the materials to build a space ship and where do they build them? On the moon? Well, who knows maybe they reall build them on the moon. I have heard weird stories about the moon. But it's still pretty hard to grasp.

If the evil angel's "agenda" is to louse up human thinking rather than stupicly waltz out in public and say "hey everybody we are evil angels and we are here to party -- here to make sure as many of you as possible are condemend to the lake of fire -- ..."

(I mean just go along with me on this one for just one second) IF -- I say IF they did not want to try confessing to everthing right up front as "Their trick" - but instead they decided to "actually" be sneaky -- why not appear as "visitors from another planet" ?? Why not engage in a kind of "cultural exchange" of religious views where they claim to be from other planets and claim that our view of God and the Gospel is nothing like what the Universe of intelligent beings knows to be true??

Sort of a "welcome to the neighborhood earthlings - now please step out of the dark ages and we will share our science with you. But you need to forget the gospel superstitions you have" approach.

You know - "Actually being sneaky".

And of course Satan has one more trick up his sleeve -- appearing in the clouds of heaven with his own "shining angels" - going out to deceive the whole earth!!

    Bob

I know what you mean and it also makes sense. I could even have come up with such a plan and I'm most likely not as intelligent and subtle as Satan. But somehow it's still hard to grasp. It's as if I think that Satan couldn't come up with something like this. It's like this with every conspiracy theory. When the theory becomes too complicated and when there are too many controversies then you think that it cannot be true anymore but what if the controversies are part of the conspiracy? What if they are only supposed to confuse the people?

I think the biggest problem is simply that it is so hard to connect science fiction stuff with angels and the supernatural. These 2 things do not seem to belong together. I think it's a problem of the mind. It's as if both things are in different drawers and it's very hard to overcome this thinking.

Satan deceived a third of the angels,

He decieved Adam and Eve -

He convinced the Jews to crucify their own Messiah

He convinced the Christian church of the NT to become the RCC of the Dark ages.

He is stated in 2Thess 2 to becoming to mankind with all lying wonders and power and miracles.

In Rev 12 the Angels of heaven say "woe woe woe" to the earth "for the devil has come down to you knowing he has a short time"

Paul says in Eph 6 that our enemy is not merely flesh and blood and that we must put on the FULL armor of God so that "having done EVERYTHING you may STAND firm".

Christ said in Matt 24 that his ability to decieve would be so great that he would almost deceive "the very elect" --

The problem with our view of Satan is NEVER that we accurately estimate the extreme magnitude and genius of his schemes -- never!

    In Christ,

    Bob

    Agreed.

But tell me, how does the armor of God help against something like this?
I mean, I don't even know what the armor is. How does a christian use it? Is the armor basically simply memorizing a few bible verses?
Let's say a christian has an alien encounter how does the armor of God help him in such a situation? If the armor isn't something supernatural which really exists but merely a few bible verses then how can it help in such a situation?

The Armor of God is listed in Eph 6.

"Having done everything stand firm" says Paul.

In Job 1 - Satan whines that God has set a hedge - a protective wall about Job and so these evil angels (true aliens as they are not from earth) can not GET to Job.

God's point in Eph 6 is that His Word provides that protection. When we turn TO IT - accept it - develop a hunger and thirst for the one who is "The WAY the TRUTH and the LIFE" we are under God's protection.

    Check out Ps 91.

    In Christ,

    Bob
