...what makes "me" feel more "alive" at church?

A good teaching sermon! Being able to participate even so slightly absent any church family control and mandates. Only being permitted to keep the dust off the pew is a bummer for sure.

20 or so years ago, when I was still (foolishly) involved in the charismatic movement, I would have answered by saying upbeat and toe-tapping "praise and worship" songs. Needed something to get me excited about church since I was beginning to realize the preaching I was hearing was about as shallow as a kiddie wading pool. Thankfully, I got out of that movement and have matured in my faith.

Nowadays I would say that a theologically sound sermon makes me feel "alive" in church. One where Jesus is preached and glorified!!

What makes you feel most alive when you are at your church?

When my church is successful in a project that glorifies God ... and I helped.

Just the opportunity to be able to go to Church, and that they seem to want me to come back for the next service.

As I reflect, it is at those times when the Holy Spirit brings to my heart and mind some Scripture of assurance and instruction in which I am guided.

Not long ago, I was pleading in a quiet listening way with God, and how marvelous His presence came to me.

One does not "come alive at church" through the business of the methods, but by the soundness and quietness of the meditation upon the Scriptures. Giving time to hear, and place to listen to what God would say, how He would impress, and what answer He would present.

Unfortunately, this present world abounds with the church called Sardis: "I know your deeds, that you have a name that you are alive, but you are dead."

They post a catchy name, and proclaim life, but are dead. But, there are a "FEW" even in the Sardis who are unsoiled, and properly clothed by God.

The biggest deficit in the modern church????

Being STILL, QUITE, LISTENING, and HONESTY.
