I bought one of the big 'checker' rugs (with large checkers) from Cracker Barrel, to display on the round coffee table in the family room. The kids play them all the time!

My grandson has started working there, so I may be getting a discount soon! Ya Hooooooooo.

Cracker Barrel has the greatest stuff. And the FOOD is so much like Mom's... [IMG] I had chicken and dumplings the last time I was there.

Anyway, the closest Cracker Barrel to me is in Flagstaff Arizona, about a 5 hour drive. I always stop there when driving down to Phoenix for a hockey game or to visit relatives or snowbirding church members.

The cast iron stuff at Cracker Barrel always tempts me.

I won't fry chicken or make milk gravy in anything but my good ole cast iron skillets!

I have only eaten there twice and must have hit bad days. Hubby nor I either one enjoyed the food...

We have a Cracker Barrel near by, we love it, haven't eaten there in a long time. Love the chicken and dumplings. I ahve had other people on line say the food was bad at their Cracker Barrel.
I'm like you Sue, got to have the cast iron for chicken.

Got a recipe for those chciken and dumplings. Turns out just like theirs.

My Mom's chicken and dumplin's were so wonderful....she tried to teach me, but she was a good ole Southern gal and somehow had that recipe installed at birth apparently. [IMG]
Donna, what's your recipe? Start a new thread and post it there!

OK, for you Secret Pals who want a MAN for Christmas, I've found a solution for you!

    Man-shaped pillow for solo sleeper

AFTER a long night at work as a radio DJ, Junko Suzuki likes to snuggle at bedtime - and she says she's found the perfect partner: a man-shaped pillow.

Linen maker Kameo Corp.'s new "Boyfriend's Arm Pillow" - which consists of a headless torso and a stuffed arm that curls around the sleeper - might make some people uneasy.

(giggle) Nope, I don't think it will work...doesn't look like he can split wood or change a flat tire.

If you send it now and your in the same country she'll get it too soon and may not be able to wait to open it. I would wait till late Nov at least.

NOVEMBER 15th is the deadline for sending your gift IF your Secret Pal lives out of the country...

DECEMBER 15th is the deadline for sending your gift if your Secret Pal is in the same country where you live.

Anticipation is what makes this swap fun (both for the giver and receiver).

Please hold on to your gift until DECEMBER 1st (see above).

If nothing else, we will enjoy hearing about how hard it is for you to hold onto it until then. [IMG]

October is so busy for me that I'm not shopping till Nov. So maybe I won't go crazy to send my gift, I hope. I do have some plans though on what gift I'm getting.
