All the Same to Me

A story my old Zaide [grandfather] used to tell:

A Jewish man and a Chinese man were eating in the same cafe.

The Jewish man, eyed the Chinese man narrowly. After a moment he stood up and knocked the Chinese man to the floor, calmly returning to his seat.

The Chinese man, clamoring back to his feet, asked the Jewish man, "What was that for?"

The Jewish man said, "Pearl Harbor."

The Chinese man cried, "Pearl Harbor? That was the Japanese! I'm Chinese!"

The Jewish man shrugged and said, "Japanese, Taiwanese, Chinese.. they're all the same to me."

The Chinese man, returned to his seat, but eyed the Jewish man for a few moments. Suddenly he stood up and knocked the Jewish man to the floor, calmly returning to his seat.

The Jewish man, rising to his feet, demanded, "What was that for?"

The Chinese man said, "The Titanic."

The Jewish man cried, "The Titanic? That was an iceberg!"

The Chinese man shrugged and said, "Iceberg, Sternberg, Feinberg... they're all the same to me."
