What happened to the Tribe of Dan? It is not included in the list so your premise is incorrect!

Yes, and they represent the Church not Israel.

That "symbolism" is awfully specific! </font>
Yep, 144,000 from 12 tribes (Dan is omitted) and they are "virgin males." Pretty specific for "symbolism." </font>
Paraphrasing Ed Ed "Tee Hee". [IMG] [IMG] [IMG] [IMG]

The Deliverer, Jesus Christ, has already come out of Sion, some 2000 years ago, and the Jews rejected Him.

"And so all Israel shall be saved:"

Negates your statement. Either that, or Paul was clueless.

For most of the Old Testament, being an Israelite seems to have been counted by having a patriarchal lineage from Israel. Judah had Pharez and Zerah of Tamar, and she wasn't a descedant of Israel (and ergo not his sister.) Solomon had a number of wives and children by them, and apparently his children were considered to be Israelites. The law allowed men to take as wives captive women from war. Apparently their children were to be recognized.

A friend of mine who seems to know everything about Judaism and Israel says that in the Babylonian captivity, there were so may rapes that they considered children of Jewish women to be Jews. Also, the children have to be circumcised, if I am not mistaken, to continue to be recognized as Jews throughout the lineage.
