In the discussion of America and Islam, there seems to be those that believe "It is really Islam versus Christianity. America is not Christian, therefore Islam is not at war with America."

Well, first who are the parties in this war? Is Islam fighting Christianity or fighting 'America?'

Next, what obligation do we as Christians have to protect Muslims?

Third, can America win this war?

Fourth, should Christians try to convert Muslims?

These are some good thought questions.

I would say that the Muslim world automatically, it seems, see "the white man" country of America as "Christian" as the Western world has been seen as such as early as the crusades.

But, don't we Christian Americans make the same mistake? Sometimes, many evangelicals see "The American cause" of "spreading diplomacy" as "God's cause".

Silly, huh? Out of "patriotism", we become more American than Christian.

That does not explain the jihad against Christians in Indonesia, India, Pakistan, Kashmir, Thailand, Bangladesh, Sudan, Somalia, Chechnya, Algeria, Philippines, Lebanon, Israel, Turkey, Russia, Nigeria, Sierra Leone, Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Kosovo, etc., etc., etc., ad nauseum. :tear:

You are correct Lady Eagle. It does not account for that. Good thought. I must admit, my worldview is slightly "America only" since I have been to the Middle East as a US soldier twice now.

    Thanks
