I believe that God is the Sovereign of the Universe and Obama could not have been elected unless God allowed it. That belief alone frightens me more than the knowledge that a committed Marxist will be the next president.

We only know Obama by his close asociates, all Marxist. Could the racist, hate America rantings of Jeremiah Wright, Obama’s mentor for 20 years be prophetic? Wright ranted “not God bless America but God damn America”, cursing America because of people killed in the wars to defend Wright’s freedom to hate America; no mention of over 50 million babies slaughtered before birth since Roe-v-Wade. Wright further said, regarding 9/11, “the chickens have come home to roost”. Is he correct? Has God’s patience with America come to an end. Will God use Obama to bring America to its knees, a third world country? Is Obama the instrument of God’s judgment on America? Time will tell.

    C. Everette Koop, former Surgeon General of the United States, has rightly said, “Abortion is an atrocity changing the whole thought process of our country. More than a million unborn lives a year cannot be violently terminated without taking its toll on us as a nation.” Sadly, but truthfully, Obama could not have been elected without the strong support of “professing Christians”. It is a fact that Obama viciously supports the murder of the unborn, that he voted on more than one occasion in the Illinois State Senate against a bill requiring doctors to provide medical aid to children alive after a “botched” abortion. It is a fact that the democrat party is strongly pro abortion. It is a fact that about half of “professing Christians” continue to vote democrat. All America may well be judged. If so will God judge “professing Christians” who support of the murder of the unborn more harshly?

We approve of murdering babies, born and unborn, animals are more important here then babies (save the wolves!)
we approve of homosexuality, and now homosexual marriage
we approved and asked for socialism, whose result is communism and athieism
flaunt sexual rights (sexual revolution of the 60's from which this country has never recovered, nor wanted too)
we removed prayer and God from schools
we began accepting false gods and false religions in the name of tollerance
we taught and accepted a nation of greed(exit polls proved that)
so, are we under judgement from God,,
I would defiantly say yes. When christians particpate in approving all of the above and more too, then yes we're under judgement.

I am amazed that human beings can take it on themselves to declare the will and intentions of a sovereign God.

We don't know if this is 'God's judgement' or not. I would not want to be guilty of determining His motives.

Who are we to determine His judgement?

The election is over. Frankly, if I had gone by my first instinct. I would have voted 3rd party, as liberal as McCain is. Pastor Larry and others changed my mind for McCain.

Neither I nor you know the mind of God. All we know is that He has a purpose for Obama being President. It could be judgement, or reap what we sow, or maybe, Obama was chosen by God to be saved. We do not know. This I do know. Romans 13 says all civil authority is from God and we are to obey it and pray for it.

I will be bold and say I know for certain that Gods will is that all men might be saved.

    Agreed - that is scripture.

Can you show me scripture where God promised to judge America with the election of Barack Obama? Of course not - and that is the point. Saying this is God's judgement is opinion, and to my mind dangerous opinion for it lets us judge His actions.

Could this not be God's blessing - giving her one last chance to see the error of her ways, knowing that the result will be people turning to Him?

Or maybe He knows that tough times are the best way to draw men to Him?

I will be bold and say for certain that I know God is pro-life for the unborn and those babies who were born alive from botched abortions.

Okay - agreed, again that is scriptural.

What does that have to do with a man determining God's judgement or blessing?

Are hard times always judgement? Only God knows.

Its in the book of Hezikiah chapter 13 right after the chapter about Kennedy being the false prophet.

don't you believe in general spiritual laws. If you break them them there are consequences? Obama supports abortion and now both executive and legislative branches support it. Not only that but this president elect has supported infantside after birth. Surely if the US allows for this do you think there will be no Judgement? Natural consequences for sin?

Natural consequences for sin - of course.

But is it not vaguely possible that this is God's way of blessing America by purging the church of the fluff and chaff and letting His true church come forth to truly shine the light and shake the salt?

This could be God's judgement, but no one knows but God.

    Here's one for you.

Was the Roman province of Judea blessed or judged by God in the first century?

The OT is full of God's judgement against nations who live as this one has for a long time, flaunting our sins, thumbing our noses at God.
And somehow some christians do not beleive God passes judgement.
And this would be part of the problem.

Could it be God's judgement on our country and a cleansing of the church, both at the same time.

It could be anything - I keep saying that - but we cannot decide if God is blessing or judging, only He knows!

This may be His way to bless America by helping her see how bad it can be and returning a more conservative government to power in four or eight years.

I think we are wrong to presume on God.

Maybe it is God's blessing by allowing us to get our eyes and faith off of the politicians and on Him.

Yes, in the OT. There is no example of this in the NT.

In fact, Jesus announces judgment on certain cities for their rejection of Him but says this judgment will come on Judgment Day.

There are many who believe that since Jesus came, God is withholding judgment until Judgment Day. This is a time of grace for men to be drawn to Jesus and believe (or not).

The early Chrisitans were in a culture with temple prostitutes, homosexuality, occultism, polytheism, and all kinds of evil behavior. When they were persecuted, the church grew.

We cannot rejoice in evil but evil does allow us to see the light of Christ shine more brightly.
