    The American Legion is open to most who pulled active duty.
    Is there any reason you have not joined?

    Joined, and let my membership lapse. The magazine seemed to be a bit partisan. And my schedule has never made swinging by to hang out something that I could do very often.

    To be honest, I think online forums are giving vets a lot of the things that they previously used the Legion and VFW for.

    As a voice for vets, the Legion has the broadest membership requirements. Though, they could be broader. To me the question is "is your local post more than a social club?" As Christians, our primary source of fellowship should be our local church. However, my post has an active
    • Boys' State program.
    • Care Package program through its Auxiliary.
    • Outreach to the local VA long term care facilities.
