So you don't support killing an innocent child for the protection of the mother, but you support your military dropping bombs on innocent civilians to protect you?

Abortion can never, ever, be for good. It is always wrong in the 21st century due to medical advances, even when the mother's life may be in some peril.

If in saving the mother's life, the unborn baby dies, that is not the intentional killing of an unborn baby but rather the unfortunate consequence of a medical procedure to save the life of the mother but it was not intended to kill the unborn baby like an abortion is.

</font>[/QUOTE]It's funny how "good Christians" can justify killing an innocent baby because it's the result of rape. [IMG] just a thought.

What Jesus says is more then 'just a thought':

    Mat 23:15 (KJV1611 Edition):
Woe vnto you Scribes and Pharises,
hypocrites; for yee compasse Sea and land to
make one Proselyte, and when hee is made,
yee make him two fold more the childe of hell
    then your selues.

I know a woman who was gang raped.
    She became pregnant.
    She aborted.
She ended up in therapy because after a child was born to her and her husband she kept wondering what the child she aborted would have been like. Was it a male or a female? Would it have had her blonde hair? Would it have liked apples like her daughter did.

    It almost drove her insane.

She tells me that she feels like she punished the child because of the father, and that she bore more guilt than the baby did. (Her "guilt" was that she had refused to go out with a man who had a terrible reputation, and he later broke into her home with his friends.)

I have to ask - if a woman was raped, and gave birth to a child, would you support murdering the child because it was born of rape?

Clearly any child born of a rape would be such an abomination that it must be slaughtered. The child's location in or out the womb cannot possibly matter.

While I do NOT agree with abortion in any way, I do not think Speedgracer is necessarily trying to say that pregnancies from rape should be aborted. Rather it was claimed that the women in these terrible situations should have the choice to abort or not. This seems to be what was said.

I feel for women in this situation. While I feel I could never abort a baby, it would still be heart wrenching to be raped and then find out a baby is on the way. After my daughter was born I had serious complications that left me in the hospital for two months and unable to walk without a walker for almost a year. If I ever have another child I will die. If, God forbid, this happened to me I would be torn. I do not feel as if I could abort the baby, but I would also be taking away a mother for my two children that were born out of love. That would definitely be an awful decision to make, and I feel for any woman in this situation.

I commend the men who said they would welcome a child into their family if their wives were raped, however, in the real world this is not always the case. What if a woman is married with children and her husband will leave her if she decided to have the baby anyway, even if it was given up for adoption? I, myself would not be in this situation, but could you blame this woman for having doubts? I think these are the types of women speedgracer was talking about.

Texassky, the woman will feel guilt no matter what. I'm just saying it should be up to her to choose between possibly having a rapist's baby(80% of rapes are by someone they know)or choosing to abort shortly after.

    Filmproducer,

You are discussing a different subject. You are suggesting choosing between two lives. One already on this earth with responsibilities to others and one whose journey on this earth is just beginning.

The topic of rape is different.

If you had an easy pregnancy, if there was absolutely no risk to you in regards to having another child, would you support abortion.

We make a lot of excuses, but the fact is - even in a case of rape the choice to abort is selfish. Perhaps MORE selfish than in cases of unwed pregnancy. There is still more social stigma against women who conceive before marriage than there is about women who are raped.

I'm almost 50 years old. Almost everyone I know says that their parents admit they were "unplanned surprises." Not all of those surprises were born to parents who shouted with joy at the news the child was expected. I know I was a surprise. My mother was too. She was born in the great depression, conceived before her father bragged he was going to wait to have kids until he could afford to feed them. My favorite Aunt was a late-in-life surprise born to my grandmother.

I have a beautiful niece. A real darling. Smart. Christian. A great person.

Doctors pushed her mother to abort her. Claimed their tests showed that she would be born disabled, that her birth could kill her mother, a lot of things.

My sister said God gave her the child and she was going to try to have it.

Praise God she did. I can't imagine this world without my niece in it.

Today people think that "if it is inconvienent to your plans," it is "justifiable." I don't think God agrees.

C4K, there is nothing brutal about extracting the sperm and egg from a woman. It doesn't form a fetus till the 8th week.

    SG,

You make a "rapist's baby" sound like some kind of abomination. It is a child - no one has the right to kill it.

Not all women are so lucky to live and not all children are as blessed as your niece.
