Someone started a thread a while back about the books by Ann Coulter. I cannot remember who started it, and cannot seem to locate it.

Recently, I read Treason. Has anyone read this? What were your reactions?

[Note: Do not post any portion of the book, as there is no allowance for brief quotes.]

    BIR,

I've checked it out of the library and plan to read it during Thanksgiving week. I'll let you know.

Personally, I find autobiographies to be self-serving. Usually not worth reading.

Autobiography? You seem to be thinking of another book, Galatian.

She is one of the reasons I mourn the retirements of William Buckley & William Saffire - literate, thoughtful writers. If you like hysterical polemics, then "Treason" should impress you. [IMG]

Barbarian on Coulter's new book, "Treason":
Personally, I find autobiographies to be self-serving. Usually not worth reading.

By golly, I was mistaken. The title misled me.

    Greetings Daisy, my "like-minded leftist!"
I already have an opinion about this book, but I will wait to see what everyone else says before I share it with the group!!

After Coulter's defense of Joe McCarthy in the last book, I'll pass on this one unless it contains a retraction.

I found her defense of Senator McCarthy to be right on target. [IMG]

Exactly right Ken. McCarthy was right about every single commie. He called them what they were. The New York Times called them democrats.

Btw, we can think the demofolk for giving the Russians nuclear technology that they pointed at us for 50 years.

Further, the FBI knew that McCarthy was right. They had cracked the Russian code but couldn't truth the stupid presidents Roosevelt and Truman to let them know they cracked it. Hilarious.

I once used Coulter's columns to line a bird cage, but I found it it violated laws against cruelty to animals ...

I love her. Smart, articulate, and willing to cut the heart out of any libby.

I love how the left calls her mean, all while Al Franken's book, "Rush Limbaugh is a big fat idiot" stays on the shelves, with it's 75% off sticker.....

    Go Ann.

Anybody hear her on Hannity's radio show this week ?

    I love her.

The word neocon comes to mind. Clever girl making money condeming one side of the globalist party while covering for the other.

I heard her in an interview with Alex Jones where she condemned anyone that was against the Patriot Acts as being un-patriotic. Alex asked her several questions on it that she tried to dodge...till at last she admited to never having read the Patriot act.

    Classic neocon.

Even conservatives laugh at her. When she and the National Review parted ways, they openly jeered at her assertion (on "Politically incorrect") that her Constitutional rights had been violated by their refusing to publish her work.

She responded, in typical Coulter manner by calling them "girly men." They laughed at that, too.

Perhaps you didn't read her column in the National Review on September 13, 2001.

Perhaps, but you should read Franken's book Lies and the Lying Liars Who Tell Them. Al discusses Ann Coulter in the first two chapters. [note: the recent update includes an addendum to the second chapter.]

BTW, Al Franken's books are regularly on top of the bestseller list. The book you mention is several years old.

Now, you have made the claim that Ann is "smart, articulate, and willing to cut the heart out of any libby." Perhaps you could provide some evidence as to what qualifies as "smart" and "articulate." I would be curious as to what she has said that you regard in this manner. That is an honest question, by the way.

No, and Al Franken addresses Sean as well in chapter 14 of his book.

Note: I recall that you have a high regard for Michelle Malkin as well. I just picked up her book with the disturbing title In Defense of Internment.
I haven't yet read this, so I will make an attempt to discuss this when I finish the book. I am currently reading an outstanding book by Robert Reich, but it is next.

I am sure that this is not surprising, but our opinions differ dramatically.

Please explain why you found it "very, very informative." Remember, she has it copyrighted, so we cannot reproduce any portion, but we can discuss her subject matter. Again, that is an honest question, not an attack.

I had only heard the mainstream liberal viewpoint about Senator McCarthy. Then I read her book and learned the truth about him.

Someone at work has a bumper sticker on his vehicle that says, "Don't be a girly man...vote Republican". :D
