Ah yes, Detroit is a great sports town, the first city to have two teams in two different sports to have the best regular season record in the same year. :D ;) [IMG]

Detroit fan here (and not of my own free choice - my Dad is from Detroit - so my cheering for them is not of myself, lest I should ever boast ;) ). Yes, Detroit is enjoying a wonderful era for its hockey and basketball franchises. The problem is, these are my least favorite sports of the Big Four. My faves are baseball and football, and the chasm from my favorite two to the bottom two is huge. I only follow hockey and b-ball with passing interest. I might watch a playoff game or two, but only if they make it to the finals. (And by watch, I don't mean sitting down and watching the whole thing, but doing other things or changing the channels periodically. Sort of half in and half out.)

Baseball might be turning around, though. I am hoping for 82 wins this year.

Football - not as confident. I think we are in for a few more sub-500 seasons.

It's all right Andy. We are cheering for the Red Wings--that is cheering that they will drop out in the first round. [IMG]

    I second that one [IMG]

A great way for the playoffs to begin in the NBA and the NHL is to see the Detroit teams pack up and go home early. [IMG]

Would it be more preferable for the Dead Things to get bounced in the first round, or for them to make it all the way to the Stanley Cup Finals before losing? If the latter, we not only get to watch them lose, but we also gain the pleasure of hearing their fans attempt to explain how they were really the better team. :D

I've never been a fan of anything Detroit until Tayshaun Prince arrived with the Pistons. Prince, of course, the ex-Kentucky star. He was good at Kentucky, but he has really blossomed in the NBA. I know I shouldn't be pulling for the Pistons, but I can't help myself.

In my opinion he is one of the most under valued players in the league. Ask Reggie Miller again if he would concede a layup in the playoffs.
