WASHINGTON (AP) — President Barack Obama won lavish praise from good-government groups when he announced restrictions that he said would "close the revolving door that lets lobbyists come into government freely."
Less noticed was the asterisk that was added a few hours later by the president's spokesman, Robert Gibbs: "Even the toughest rules require reasonable exceptions," he told The Associated Press....

From the article... "The Obama administration should not allow its ethics standards to begin with a series of waivers and loopholes which immediately undermine its good intentions," Brian said.

That ship already sailed with the appointment of tax evaders and conflict of interest foreign fund raisers.

This is a consistent pattern with the Democrats... announce that they will be more ethical than anyone ever before and then proceed to be more ethically challanged than anyone could ever imagine.

I consider these two a non issue since congress is the one who gives them a pass. Obama only appointed them. However the lobbyist waiver to his rule is not a good way to begin a new relationship with the American people. I hope this stuff doesn't continue.

Both parties make empty promises they are not just limited to Democrats.

Obama appears to be joining Clinton in the ranks of the consumate liars.

Say anything to get elected. Anything at all. Democrats are too dishonest to care and Republicans can't do anything about it.

Sure, Obama and Clinton are the only politicians that lied... :BangHead:

How about, "Read my lips, NO NEW TAXES"?

The problem is, limiting lobbyists is really limiting your access to your representatives. You have the right to lobby, and if you can pay someone to do that for you, then you have the right to do that too.

The exceptions will be who gets to lobby. I can only think organizations like the NRA and NRL are the targets of his lobbying restrictions, while the Socialist agenda reaps the advantages of the exceptions.

There is no such thing as any "ethically challanged (sic) politician", to use today's PC lingo, of any stripe.

Nor is there any such thing as an "unethical politician" for that phrase is redundant, by definition.

Likewise, the phrase "ethical politician" is an oxymoron. :tear:
