I am glad I saw this thread! I had forgotten to give feedback on my last three purchases, one with e-bay and two with Amazon.

    I have 100% rating, but I haven't bought much!

My grandson has been buying and selling on ebay for over a year and doing very well. He has shipped all over the world...keeps a map and places pins on where he has shipped items.

I just ran across a site called geezer.com that lists things for older people, but one deals directly with the customer or seller. Anyone tried that one?

Been Ebay'n since '99. Not doing much now selling now but still buying books to resell and a few sporting goods items every now and then.

Doing most of our selling on Amazon.com and our own web site now but never stay off Ebay for long.

Do have a few items to put on after the first of May when I get back home from a Revival trip. Two old Ice cream Freezers and a lot or two of gun related items. We'll be doing more when Yard Sales pick up in our area.

I buy at yard sales to resell on ebay too. I've done tupperware and Home Interior. Not sure what I'll look for this year.

Bro. Jim, We sold a CD on Amazon MONTHS ago and have never bothered to enter payment info. My Jim said it's not worth it for the couple of bucks he cleared.

I've got some PlayStation2 games I should put on Ebay but my digital camera is acting up....

Amazon has been good to us over the years. We sold over 3000 on them in 2002 but only about half that in 2003. All we've done is books and I think a couple of CD's and Movies.

Sometimes I'll list items on ebay without pictures but when I do I really try to describe them well. On books it usually doesn't hurt too much not to have a picture. Might work the same with PS2 games.

Let me know when you put them on. My grandsons love PS2 and they might want some of the games. [IMG]

Donna, he's got Rayman Rush, Dexter's Laboratory: Mandark's Lab?, and Stuart Little 2 which are all for PlayStation. He also had some computer games he's outgrown. He's got a Spiderman for the computer, Amazon Trail, Arthur's Reading Games, Treasure Cove, Play-Doh Creations and Construction Zone. Some things sell well on Ebay but I had a Jeff Gordon Racing that we listed 4 times before we sold it!

I hate having to keep relisting, once you finally sell your profit is down becasue of those listing fees, and more so now with the higher fees.

We listed a LOT of things on Ebay today under our username of jimtavegia Our Things On Ebay

I sent out a mailing to our home school group with a PlayStation (1) and a whole bunch of games for PS1 we have for sale, plus some computer learning games for kids. Hope I get some sold!

My digital camera needs batteries but I have some collectibles I need to list.

If your start price was lower and you used a reserve it would save a little and would attract more attention to your auctions.

I think Donna may be right Diane.

Lower your starting price to attract bidders and instead of a 'buy it now' just put a reserve on it.

I have also found that putting a picture in the gallery has helped me sell many items...

Explain "reserve" as opposed to "buy it now". I'm a newbie on Ebay, remember?

'Reserve' means you can name a price and you will not settle for less, but the bidder does not see that. When the auction is over if the reserve has not been met, nothing happens.

'Buy it now' means they can pay a higher price and 'buy it now' if they want to make sure that no one else outbids them.

If you make the starting price low, you will attract more bidders and the more bidders you have bidding on the same item - the more you will get for the item...

Hubby listed all of those but the Buy It Now means we'll get the item sold sooner than the 7 day auction. He sold one item last night and we have a question on another item that I can't answer until one of my men gets home.

With a lower opening bid, people tend to bid instead of buying it now because they hope they'll get it at a lower price. They DO charge you less for listing them tho! That's for sure!

We sold two item in the first 24 hours. Another item, and we'll be able to pay our mortgage! I had a question on a fancy microphone just now. Maybe it'll sell while I'm out! Neat!

I'm going to get some batteries today and take pictures to put some small things on Ebay tonight. Might as well try!

makes a lot of sence especially if your buy now or reserve are high, you can afford $.25 for gallery.
