    Hello, I have not been to the Baptist Board in a while now and I see there have been many new topics posted since I was here last. Are there any IFB Pastors reading or posting in here. If so, would you be kind enough to make yourself known to me?

    I am a IFB Pastor. I don't post much. Many of the questions can be answered by reading the Bible...........which most of the people here obviously don't do.

    Many of the questions can be answered by reading the Bible.

    That is so, so true Shiloh! I had something troubling me that I did not feel I could talk to my Pastor about and was going to see if one of you could help me but before I could ask it, I found my answer in the Bible. I read it daily but have not read all the way through the Old Testament yet. After praying about it, the Lord lead me right to the answer. He is so good to me. Thank you all for making yourselves known to me here on the board. May the Lord bless each one of you in your service to Him!

    I am an IFB Pastor for 3 1/2 years now. I served as Assistant Pastor in two IFB Churches proir to that.

In the case of my home church HSBC of San Francisco, we've been "Independent" by SBC standards since our founding in 1881. Personally, I do not count a mainline SBC church as Independent (that's a distinction going back to the 1830s) or Fundamental (no matter what adjectives the Modernist wing of the Convention wants to throw around); Evangelical-yes, Conservative-yes, Fundamental-in the sense of being willing to make the hard choice of obedience to those verses commanding separation-no.

    So, if I were in your boots, I'd pull in my horns and turn my artillery towards other targets.

    Nope, Hyles and his ilk have done far more damage to the body of Christ than any SBCrs who might send a group of men to Promise keepers.

    Sorry, he is the classic example of what preachers should strive to NOT be like. He is entrenched in my mind forever.

    Of course, you are assuming that he is resting. Given his false gospel and wicked lifestyle, I assume he is very thirsty.

    Exactly! It is the mindset and influence of people like him I have an issue with. That mind-set is still out there today. And when someone says they are an IFB KJVonly Baptist, "Hyles theology" is what comes to mind, rightly or wrongly.

    Do you people see the problem here? MOST of the people posting here are critical of old time fundamental Bible preaching. Either the papers or the mem themselves..............and they are doing it on the fundamental board???? Why don't you fellows get on the community church board or the Unitarian hodge podge. You would fit right in there.
