It's called greed, and a violation of the 10th Commandment. They covet.
They hoard what they have, and don't want to help others.
It's theirs, and NO one is going to get it.

Greed is found in both the rich and poor.
Rich want more, and want to hold on to what they have.
Poor want more, and will do what ever it takes to get it.

In order to be happy in life: Be content, and help others.

(Feel free to pass that around.. just give me credit for the quote.. I may be able to make some money from it!)

No it hasn't! Obama has destroyed things faster than most Chicago wrecking crews could have done a row of old warehouses. Repairing what he's done is what will take a long time after we get him out of the White House.

Are you serious? If you think that Obama's failure to respond is Bush's fault, you must be drinking some really good kool aid.:type:

I have to agree with you TC. There were many, many things about the Bush years that were not good (and I voted for him twice), but to blame him for this is ridiculous.

So this oil slick has been off shore for eight years waiting to land during the Obama reign?

I'm talking about being slow to deal with this oil slick...

    I don't object to off-shore drilling.

Did you know that far, far, far more oil is spilled every year from tankers?

Perhaps you would wish to ban oil tankers too?

I wonder how much of the fact that BP was given a pass on these things is due to the fact that they were a major contributor to Emperor Obama's campaign.

Both parties are owned by the same people. They buy every major campaign, every major candidate.

I think we need to get on with the drilling! We can't let this setback stop us. We also need to make up for what was lost in this accident. We need to study what happened, determine the root cause, and, if reasonable, fix that problem or problems. We don't need to panic into stopping all deep sea drilling.

Well...the R's will be scared to do anything, since they have had their spines surgically removed. The D's couldn't be happier, IMO. They'll use this disaster to stop drilling, and possibly enact some draconian energy policy that will make Al Gore the only one able to afford fossil fuels.

We'll probably end up mandating that everything must be powered with solar energy...then we'll summarily outlaw that when some kid cuts his pinkie on a chipped solar panel.

If we switch to solar power it will suck all the light out of the sun and the earth will freeze.

If we switch to wind power it will drag the earth to a stop and there will be no day or night.

Let's just drill for the oil!

    Oh, it's better than that.

Newsweek reported that Christine Todd Whitman (D)former EPA Director, Tom Daschle (D) former Senate majority leader, and Leon Panetta (D) Obama's CIA director all worked on a "high powered advisory board" for BP Oil at the tune of $120,000 per year salary.

Two years ago they flew by helicopter out to BP oil rigs in the Gulf of Mexico to inspect drilling safeguards and upon return reported that "they (BP Oil) were really committed to ensuring that they got it right".

So if they didn't know what they were talking about why were taking that sweet money to just blow smoke for public consumption?
