The great landscape is the most hidden thing about Vegas (on the other side of the desert). But has anyone witnessed/taught here?

My husband lived in Vegas for almost 7 years. I lived there for 4 1/2 months.

There are at least two independent Baptist Churches and a few SBC as well.

I was stationed there from 88 to 91. Nice skiing on Mount Charlston. Great hiking in Red Rock Canyon, and Mount Charlston. The scuba diving in Lake Meade isnt bad either. Though there are some HUGE catfish down there.

I live close to Tunica, MS. It is a smaller, much smaller, version of Las Vegas.

I agree... Jesus would never have been caught around sinners.

Have a ex-brother-in-law that lives around 90 miles from me in Tunica. I would love to see him sometime, but because he works for the casinos, I will not see him any time soon.

I pray God opens his eyes.

You won't visit him because he works for a casino?

I don't understand the logic. Jesus didn't refuse to go to Matthew's party or Zacheus party because there were sinners there. Reaching sinners was what Jesus was all about.

Fine, if you want to go to Vegas and stand on a street corner and witness, be my guests. But I would bet (pardon the pun) that most Christians who go to Vegas go there to gamble and other vices, NOT to witness to sinners.

There are Plenty of places to go in and around Vegas without going near the Casinos.
There is a HUGE Mormon presence. There's even a Mormon temple, not just a "church" (there are those too) but a temple where you have to have a "recommend" from another 'worthy member' or some such nonsense.

You have to get a temple recomend from your bishop before being alowed to enter any LDS temple. Even if your son or daughter is getting married in the temple if you do not have your recomend you can not attend.

Things that will keep you from geting a recomend

    Drinking coffee
    not tithing a full 10%
    premarital sex
church non attendance, even if you work sunday
not confessing all sins to your bishop
    just to name a few.

Just some useless mormon info. Carry on.

I flew into Las Vegas because the flight was cheaper. I got in my rental car and left town. I just don't enjoy big cities.
I drove around the Grand Canyon.

This is weird... Maybe I'm seeing something... but when I came to the page these last 2 posts were on, at the top was an ad for vegas.com and cheap rooms...

Have I just entered the twilight zone?

The Google ads are called "smart ads", they pick up key words and show ads that correspond.
