Anyone ever get SPAM FBI Gov. emails?

    Today I've gotten several fake mail delivery failures and registrations and some from a fake FBI spam address. The FBI gov. ones say I have visited illegal sites. lol Has anyone ever gotten those kind? All of a sudden today I have gotten all these. Around 14 or so. This is not usual for me to get so much at once.
    Is there a way to find out where they came from?

    Odds are someone who has your email address in their address book has gotten a computer virus. The delivery failures are one way it tries to reach other computers.

    Got one of the fbi ones amongest my 60 or so a day other junkers today. First time for me. I usually get all the junk. I am on so many junkers lists I get five and six copies of some items :eek:

    I get them every now and then. But they are flagged to go into my junk mail folder, which automatically gets emptied every few days.

    Just the last few days I've gotten scads of these varmits.

    Up until a week or so ago, I'd get probably 5-10 spams/day; but at this AM checking I had some 25, and have gotten about 12-15 more thru the day.

    I don't understand the sudden volume increase.

    Those that show undelivered mail, have always shown it was "not delivered" to some address that I never heard of. That's when I simply told my server to treat them as spam!

    Update:

    Turns out this is a variation of the sober worm virus. Very nasty.

    Do not open the accompanying file, or you just added to the problem.

    Actually I am now getting foreign language spam :) not sure what they hope to accomplish with that since I can't speak English yet much less other languages [​IMG]

    Yep. Just got one. Came through my ISP email address (I only gave that to 3 people: 1 friend, 1 missionary, and 1 forum).

    I am hearing about this, but either gmail is recognising it and getting rid of it before I see it, or I have just been fortunate.
