This is a fun and easy-to-use site where we would pick all the NFL games each week. The picks are done against the spread, so it is pretty challenging (if you get 50-60% you're doing good.)

    http://nflpicks.bman.com/

I have used the site the last year and half. It keeps all your stats, including career stats. It's fast and and it's free. There are over 5,000 people picking on the site, so you can compare how you are doing against many others.

If I get 5 of us to play, then I will create a pool for us.

    Let me know. Thanks.

    Hmm......
I was toying with the idea of doing just a straight up version off of Yahoo for BB much like the Fantasy league we have going on (we still have a slot open for that one)

My interest is tepid. I have a lot going on right now. But it may be too interesting to pass up.

I've done straight-up picks before, and it can be quite boring, because most people pick all favorites (and who wouldn't - it guarantees you a 65%-70% success rate). However, picking straight up can be fun if you assign weightings.

Picking against the spread is quite challenging. Over the last year and half on this site, my winning percentage is 48.4%. Of course, I'm not that smart. :)

I will also mention that the site has "quick pick" and "auto pick" features for those weeks that you don't have any time to think.

I really can't. I would not be a good member - I do not follow all the players closely and I have never played FF. I also am out of town on your draft day. Sorry, man.

Now that I've dissed you on the FF, can I 'suade you into joining our Pick'em league? It literally takes 15 minutes a week, unless you do all kinds of research on each game. I just pick from my heart - 48% tells it all.

I'm going to setup the pool now and will post the password.

O.k., I have setup our pool.

Name: "Baptist Board NFL Picks Extravaganza"

    Password: "WayneFontes" (no space)

To join the pool, go here:

    http://nflpicks.bman.com/joinpool.cfm

Click on the pull down menu and all the pools are in alpha order, and then enter the password.

Here are some tips on using the site:

When you register, it asks if you want to receive e-mail notifications if you forget to pick for a week. I strongly suggest you say yes and receive these reminders. It also asks if you want to hide your picks until kickoff. I strongly suggest you say yes and hide your picks until kickoff. Lastly, it also asks if you want to enable the Auto Pick feature if you forget to pick. I strongly suggest you use the Auto Pick feature. There is a pull down menu with 5 choices for your auto picks – All Favorites, All Underdogs, All Home, All Away, or All Random. Per the site rules, you can only use Auto Picks 3 times during the season, and you cannot use it for Week 1.

You can change these options if you go to Main Menu and "Edit Your Info".

Our pool site also has a message board that we can post on.

If we get 5 members (right now, we have 4 for sure), our pool stats will be recognized against all the other pools, and we'll have a chance to be the "pool champ" for a week or even the entire season. Each week they post the individual winners and the best pools.

Let me know if you have any questions.

Forgot to mention this, but it is implied. Before you can join our pool, you first have to register by going to Main Menu and Register. Don't forget your username and password!

Because I long for the glory days of the Lion franchise. ;) Pretty sad if that was truly their glory era, but anything is better than the Matt Millen era.

Actually, the 50's were their best - a couple of NFL championships.

    I will likely play.

You dont need to be there for the draft. You can pre-rank your players. Besides, we may move the draft anyway. We really need another BB member to join the league.

I'm in. Didn't know who to put for my favorite team. I follow the Titans and Bengals pretty closely.

Well, I guess when you're the Liedowns you take the glory days where you can find them. Even if the glory days are 1 blowout loss in the NFC Championship Game.

Oh, you had to go and bring that up. The week before the Cowboys lost, they had beaten the Bears at home. Another one of the Bears home playoff losses they were so good at. :BangHead:
