Ever since the "women preachers" thread has been up I have been seeing a "Meet baptist women" google ad.

I thought at first it was an attempt at a CHristian version of eHarmony so I clicked it and it is a link to a secular dating service with indecent advertising.

I think it is low on the part of that company to use the word "baptist" to get their ad on here.

==As a single Christian, I am offended at all dating sites and services (such as eHarmony). I know, I know, I am in the minority on this. But I can't understand why people put so much importance on "meeting someone". Why can't Christians just live their lives, serve the LORD, and let Him take care of them? Why should Christians be constantly wanting something they don't have. Mainly something as temporal as marriage. I can't figure it out.

I've been seeing that ad too. And I surely don't want to date any Baptist women.

Or any women for that matter.

I have always been leery of e-harmony, to tell the truth, not that I need this at 62 and happily married.
It's just that their lie is so blatant it's really nauseating.
Just take a look at the supposedly happy "couples" that they say met in their date site.
    Don't they look alike ?
They insult the intelligence of viewers.

What fallen man will do for money.

I clicked on the lionk to see just what it is about. You can be sure it is neither Baptist or Christian. And the pics available on it are pronographic.

I have seen ads for this site before on secular technology sites.
While it would not be considered pornographic legally, it is certainly inappropriate from a Christian viewpoint.

==The whole thing is a rip off. I have never used any such service but I understand they cost a good bag of change. Neil Clark Warren is a con-artist. He is taking advantage of lonely people and he is doing it for the money. Sort of reminds me of 2Peter 2:3.

==Those people are clearly actors/models (etc). It is part of the false promise to lure lonely people into the money pit.

Btw, I saw the ad. It needs to come down. No doubt about it. I would consider the image I saw pornographic.

Perhaps I didn't see the same pic, but the one I did, though offensive to any Christian would not be considered pornographic by the secular world....but the almost nothing is.

Just checked, and the ad is still there.

If the pictures weren't porn, they certainly came mighty close to it!

While I'm not necessarily opposed to internet dating sites per se, the way they promote this one is most certainly inappropriate at best for a Christian forum!

The ads for this forum need to be removed...NOW!

Its been explained to the Moderators that Google can scan BB pages and can pick up on various words----and then post ads having to do with those words

For instance, if I post a thread title dealing with something like Star Trek: The Nex Generation----Google will scan that and will post their link to something having to do with Star Trek

It was wise of Dale-c to call the ad to Andrew's attention---thanks, Bro.!!!

Until then---be awaare of what each of us is posting--and be careful of the wording of each title and conversation

E-Harmony did start out as a service geared towards Christians.

Dating services have alot of assests it seems, just like, excuse me, "male enhancement" companies. I recieve at least three e-mails a day from them on both my e-mail accounts, both of which have filters. Keep trying, but realize these sleezbags seem to have endless resouces to annoy you with. I feel like the guy on that commercial, whom gets a call from a telemarketer, keeps him on the line, then takes a plane and a car to the telemarketer's office, yanks the machine off the little twerps' desk and beats him with it.

Haven't seen the add, but its sounds like a prank porn site. Those are all over I'm afraid.

Whilst I must take issue with saying that marrige is just another temporal arragement, after all holy matrimony is not itself unholy, the idea that you can meet someone without actually meeting them, and determine that they are a match, is flat out dumb. Success stories I would say are coinsidence, just like psychic marriages. (If I say, you will eventually find the woman of your dreams and you do, suddenly you think I'm an all seeing psychic, not a good guesser.) Course a lot of stock is placed in reslationships these days. A man cannot be happy without a woman they say.

I'm actually quite happy, and don't cry myself to sleep wanting a woman's touch. That's rediculous. It would be great if ever I did find a special someone, but for now, I have friends, I have family, I have God, and I have my reasons for existing. That's enough for me and should be for any man. I sound like a hollywood PC guy for the next great romance I'm sure, but really, I'll probably die alone and really I don't care.

The only thing I think about sometimes is that some day I would like to be a father. I like kids and would like to pass my ideas on. Of course I realize that's idealized, a kid won't necessarily carry on any legacy of mine, he'll live his own life. Besides, if ever I want, my little cousins sometimes come around to visit and they're fun to play with, not the same thing I know, but it can't be helped.
