A few weeks back this insert was in the church bulletin. The pastor was teaching on a biblical model for ministry. He contrasted it with other popular ministry models. [IMG]

sounds as if this pastor was rejecting the pragmatic approach of seeker-friendly churches, that looks to a worldly buisness model rather than scripture as our guide.

That is exactly what my pastor was doing. I appreciate his decision to preach on biblical ministry.

This is well designed and useful. I wonder if it might be alright to print this out to give to some others, with credit to your pastor?

I see no reason why not. It was in the bulletin, so it was made public. I will PM you my pastor's name.

A well accepted model for the ministry of the church is (1) reaching, (2) teaching, and (3) equipping.

    1) We are the laborers (ambassadors of Christ) to plant, water and cultivate so as to help expand the kingdom. This effort brings eternal rewards.

    2) We are to disciple believers, teaching them all Christ commanded.

    3) We are to train believers so they can help expand the kingdom, both in sharing the gospel by word and example, but also by nurturing our siblings in Christ, both with physical and spiritual needs.
