I plan to resign my position with my current church. I feel the Lord is leading me in another direction. How much time is appropriate for a notice to the Pastor and congregation?

    Praying for your move!

Does your church constitution say anything about how long a notice?

There's lots of argument about the time factor. I would talk to your Pastor and let him in on the secret and then take it from there. He may say 2 weeks to give people time to say goodbye which i think is usually appropriate. But you also run the risk of him saying, "Goodbye, don't let the door hit you as you leave." I hope not, but it has happened.

But I would tell the pastor forthwith.

I guess it depends on what your position is and how long it would take to find a replacement for you.
