Good evening -

I like our story in Joshua tonight. It's a story of how easy it is to misinterpret the motives of others. How many times do we arm ourselves for battle when our cause is not as just as it appeared? We must be careful of attacking our brothers before we hear their side.

In 1Corinthians, Paul is giving instructions on what is important and what is not. One note here: Paul's advice on remaining unmarried is instructions on how to remain focused. Bear in mind that when Paul wrote this letter, it was a time of great persecution for the Christian believers. I believe that I could endure a great deal for Christ personally, but if someone were threatening my wife, I would sure be having second thoughts!
